  1. I recently received Mark's Carbon Arms one piece tube and went to install it on my 26" VM field gun. While cranking down on the tube to meet up with my receiver I noticed it would never meet up. So I grabbed a Craftsman strap wrench and cranked down, still no go. Took the tube back off and scraped on the receivers threads for a couple of hours to clean them up and still no go. So my gunsmith and I drilled a hole in the top of the tube to insert a long screwdriver for leaverage and still no go. At this point I was getting very frustrated and didnt know what to do next since my stock tube could be inserted and be flush while cranking down with one hand. So I had one more idea up my sleeve, I took it home and put the one piece tube in the freezer and left it in there over night. The next morning I gave it one more shot before I had to call Mark again, and by god it actually worked. I managed to get this tube flush inside my receiver and I was so proud of myselft. So if anyone has any trouble I would suggest trying this tip first before you make a mess of things like I did.

  2. i think its a matter of perception. i dont think they have a bad rep at all. i think in many cases it is still the go to gun for people on a budget. as stated the overall fit and finish isnt up to par with the more expensive guns, but that should be expected on a gun that costs half as much. if you go to the mossbergowners forum there are tons of people very happy with their 930's. of course when it comes to the internet people who have bad experiences are going to stand out more than all the good ones because the complaining gets more attention. additionally, when people have problems they go online looking for solutions so the problem gets noticed. wheras someone with a good working gun doesnt put up the same type of threads. i love my 930 and so far its been great, but i do have a very low round count since i just recently got it. however, from what ive heard the first 200 rounds are the most picky for the 930's for breakin, and im only a little over 100. i had 2 failures with a box of old fiocchi turkey loads, they had some corrosion on the brass (i dont even think it was brass, just a brass colored coating with some slight rust coming through) so I think this was due to the ammo. then i ran two boxes of bulk federal walmart loads flawlessly.

i think at times someone who pays for one of the more expensive guns is going to be quick to take pot shots at a less expensive gun to help make them feel better about their expensive purchase too. not to say that the more expensive guns arent better because im sure in many ways they are. i am very happy with my 930 so far, but i still plan to pick up a m2 or vm down the road because i think those guns are outstanding tools, and id like to have them in my collection when the budget allows.

I think you are spot on sir.

  3. I believe the issue from what I hear is the later models of the JM pro due to high demand are the bad bunch. Luck of the draw I guess, I wanted one myself but I was not going to over pay during this panic. I saw people were trying to get $900 or more out of the JM Pro. So I decided the hell with it and got a Versa Max. I think this is where all this is coming from. People just like me who just gave up on finding one and went a different route. Honestly I have never shot one. I know plenty of guys at Owensboro 3 gun shoot them well with no issues, so I cant tell you exactly how this bad wrap of the JM Pro.

  4. I run the TTI safety and bolt release button on mine. People smarter than me said adding too much weight on the bolt handle causes cycling issues on the VM. Tarans is beautiful. I run the smaller Nordic which weights 197 grains and the TTI is like 340. Not sure if its too much or not but something to think about.

I heard the same rumor from Nordic on the phone, I believe his name was Ryan nice guy. He suggested to get their bolt handle just made for VM which is much lighter than the Benelli one

  5. One more.

As you can see this was the best way I can figure to install it due to the shape of the forehand. I wanted it to be at the same level of the chamber. You will understand better when you have the product in your hand and play around with it. Try the velcro first to get an idea where you want it then drill through for your final place. It works great, cheapest way to save time.

  6. I did everything in my power to make things work through them. I figured since PayPal contacted them and try to find a resolution to the problem they wouldnt even answer them. So I say screw them they dont deserve my business. I called up Mark Otto and he sent me his belt the same day I called him. He also took my word on my sending my payment and sent me the belt before he had the check in his hand. Brave man.

Look what just showed up on my desk this morning...

Apparently they are still around but their communication stinks.

Jesse I am glad they work out for you. I dont know your celebrity connections help you or not? J/K I did want one of their vest cause of the velcro backing, it would be easier to get on and off compared to a clip belt.
