A few things I'm not sure you know: You can polish a few parts to help smooth it out. This pinned kneelingatlas post is a must read.

I used to have this CGW SAO trigger installed on a SA conversion, which allows you to set pre and post travel with set screws. You can always call CGW to talk to David for his solid advice on his parts.

It's got the whole kit and kaboodle in it including that trigger. I went ahead and ordered and installed the short reset kit and am a happy camper and am thrilled with it. I can't edit the post unfortunately.

I did. Lightened FPB spring. Installed CGW reach reduction and short rest set kit.  installed lighter hammer spring. I can feel the FPB during some dry fire drills, but never notice during USPSA/SCSA matches.

Thanks for the feedback.  I went ahead and order their short throw lifter and a couple of extra L springs. 40% shorter reset should equally shorten the take up which will make me happy.

  3. Why Folks go prefer shadows over B models.  I've had my 75b SA for several years now.  Shortly after getting it I deleted fpb, added cgw goodies to get a pull that was crispy, light, travel each way was very few millimeters front and back.  Was amazing!

I decided to reinstall the fpb bits with lighter springs over the past couple days.  Man is it disappointing! It's now a 1/2 inch either way.  It's still a really nice brake but dang.

Is there a way to shorten pull and reset while leaving the FPB intact?

I guess I don't get the fascination with "Comped" 9mm pistols. Standard 9mm ammo is already a very easy caliber to shoot and manage recoil on. Adding a comp isn't going to Fix poor grip mechanics. Grip the gun properly and managing recoil effectively isn't a problem.

To me adding a Comp to a handgun cambered in 9mm is like adding a Wing to a Honda Civic. Looks cool but servers virtually zero improvement in performance.

I guess companies have to do "Something" each year to release something "New" regardless of it actually being a tangible improvement to the product.

    John Wick is to blame

  5. You can get good punch from hardware store. It's a mayhew nail set punch. The stock is reusable I think. I just always order the floating pin when I order new parts. Eventually you'll want the race hammer. Not requirement, but is very nice. Get the narrow one.

  6. Absolutely. Springs and polishing help a bunch.
Don't feel it's a requirement to have a shadow though. Known several folks who did just fine with a stock SP01. Never met anyone who was being held back with one either.

  7. How is the Shadow different from the SP-01?  You are not talking about the Shadow 2 right?

And why not just bump up to the Shadow2 then?

    thanks

I am speaking about the spo1 shadow. It comes with no fpb, and comp guts, comp sights. Lighter springs and polishing are all that's really needed.

I have a worked over sp01 and an S2. The S2 feels better but is a good bit heavier.
