  1. Does the bad round pictured above chamber in your PM-9 ?

Do you have calipers to measure the bulge at the bottom of the bad round? It's visibly bulged, but that doesnt mean the chamber is in spec. My PM-9 chamber was horrible. Factory WWB would lock up the gun. It's been 100% since it was reamed.

Unfortunately I already sold the PM9 so I can't compare. How do you get the barrel reamed? Any recommendations on where to send it?

  2. Philip, take the barrel out of your gun and try dropping rounds into the chamber

by hand - see if they drop in AllTheWay.

I did...See the pic on 1st post. Some rounds will seat all the way and some won't. Even through ALL the rounds tested will seat all the way on the Dillon case gage.

The more I read on the topic... the fix could be to use a Lee factory crimp die replacing the Dillon crimp die. The slight bulge on the bottom of the case is not being remedied by the Dillon Sizing die. The Lee fixes that issue supposedly.

I'm also ordering a Wilson case gage as I read it has tighter tolerances than the Dillon.

  3. I would try screwing your sizing die down farther. You may have gotten some brass from a hotter load or possibly from a 9 major gun that is bulged more at the base. Probably a combination of a tight barrel and slightly bulged brass.

    Thank you for the reply...

Good point... I'll check the sizing die again.

Interesting thing is that the bad cartridge fits my Dillon case gauge with no issues but it does not fit the barrel as pictured above.

Are all 9mm case gauges the same...? I only have the Dillon to go by for now.

  4. Hi Guys... I am having issues with my Pet Load chambering on my Dan Wesson Guardian 1911 in 9mm.

I am using a Dillon progressive press, Bayou Round Nose 124gr, 3.8grains Titegroup @ 1.145 OAL. Pet Loads have been working perfectly for my Glock 19, Dan Wesson PM9, M&P 9.

Bought the DW Guardian yesterday and it is only taking "some" of my reloads and the Cases are getting stuck in the barrel and failing to eject.

First Row of photos shows the cartridge failing to seat fully in the barrel, it is too "fat" at the bottom of the case. Interesting enough the cartridge passes my Dillon 9mm Case gauge with no issues.

Second Row of photos shows another reload cartridge that seats fully in the barrel...no issues here.

3rd Row of photos shows Factory Ammo fully seated...no issues here.

    1. My question is this normal?

    2. How is it passing the case gauge and falling to load in the barrel?

    3. Is the barrel too tight because its a match barrel, bad barrel?

I'm out of ideas...anyones input is appreciated.

    Cheers

    Philip

  5. Using a Factory 9mm barrel may not work since the ejector is designed for a 40 round plus you may have other fitting issues. The Storm Lake Conversion Barrels Design moves the 9mm round closer to the ejector for proper placement plus it fits properly. You may also have magazine fitment issues (using a 9mm magazine in a 40 gun). Storm Lake Conversion Barrels users have documented mix results. It is safer and easier to just buy a dedicated 9mm handgun...or do what NoSteel sugests if that is the intent.

  6. Nufinish works just fine. I have been using it with the walnut media and find it to be more than adequate. I use it strait - no add.

Wow! just tried Nufinish straight up with walnut media, what a "Great" idea!

How much did you use when you load your tumbler...1 Cap Full?

  7. Hornady One Shot is my case lube of choice.

Is it applied the same way as the Dillon Lube...little spray here, little spray there and shake?

Yep, it's that easy. Then give it a min or two to dry.

    Thanks...

Do you clean the lube off the finished round once you are done with alcohol and get any residue off or just leave as is?

  8. I would package it back up... and send it TO ME!! Just kidding, nickle loads great, spray a small amount of Dillon (or make your own) lube on it and its great brass.

    Haha...

Do you spray the lube on the brass while its on the box and shake it around or do you do it individually as you are placing it on the Press?

I'm new to reloading so any insight on the Lube part is appreciated...

  9. Hey Guys...New to reloading here.

I bought 2k pieces of 9mm once fired brass from Precision Delta and they showed up today.

My concern is that ALL the brass is a silver color... I will be using a Dillon 550B to reload 9mm... Is this brass OK to reload on my Dillon...? I just never seen silver color brass. Are they Nickel Plated? I attached a photo.

    Cheers

    Philip

  10. Then check the forward edge of the slide lightly break the edge and then.

This is what I was going to suggest. If there isn't a slight bevel on the bottom of the slide where it is hanging up on the disconnecter you need to bevel it a small amount. It doesn't take much.

    Thanks for everyones suggestions...

I checked the bottom of the slide where it hangs up last night...Suprisingly there is No Bevel built into the slide at all...its cut at a perfect 90 Degree Angle. I will wait to hear back from Dan Wesson and proceed from there.

  11. Randy

I just purchased a PM9 over the weekend and I am having the same issues with the slide getting hung up by the disconnector. A firm push forward will close the slide...

How did you end up fixing the issue?

I have not taken the gun out to the range as im nervouse this Issue will create other issues. I emailed Dan Wesson on the issue now all I can do is wait.

  12. I ordered recently from Donnie at Bayou Bullets. 3300 9mm 135 gr. He shipped them in about 2 weeks! Nice...

Same here...Just put in my order today for 2k rounds of 9mm 124gr RN... Ships in two weeks...
