Hi all:
Just double checking. does the fs slide fit the f? I'm looking to update the sights and still run tac optics.
Thanks.

Hello All:
I just reread all the posts about the JMPro. I've got a 22' 8+1
I want to try to use Nordic Components Mondo Extendo mag that will give me 13+1. I have it and have installed it but have issues with tuning.
I was talking with Nordic Components and he recommends replacement of the shell stop spring, the lifter spring and polishing of the shell catch. I was going to do the polishing but I may as well replace the springs if I'm in there. So, where do I get replacement springs? Would stock mossberg parts be best or is there an aftermarket company that someone has used and recommends?
The Nordic components extended mag should get me 13+1. If I load 13 it won't cycle by hand and the last shell is very hard to load. I do have the Nordic follower. Can this be to much spring pressure on the shell stop? Would polishing the shell stop help this? Tuning the spring has been a chore any tips or tricks would be helpful.
Stock the JMpro runs great, It will cycle anything now that I've had more than 500 shells and slugs through it, and clean and lube it properly. I would like to see if the extra load capacity makes a difference in times during stages but am reluctant to try the mondo extendo mag with out being able to cycle by hand. An equipment fault is something I really want to avoid.
I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. No I'm not getting another shotty, I love my JMpro.

Nice! With the 28 and a new Nordic tube the jm should hold 13. Not bad.

There's not really much to be gained with just a longer barrel. There is a lot to be gained with greater capacity. With most matches now having no capacity limit after the buzzer 10 and 12 round tubes are becoming the norm. Since many of the more popular guns cost more for the 22" or 24" barreled versions (and they tend to be harder to find) a lot of shooters are picking up 26" barrel guns and running them full length since their replacement magazine tube is sticking that far out anyway. As for porting, at what point does it become an advantage? A line has to be drawn somewhere and an easy to enforce line is no porting. Myself, I find it funny that adding a little tiny Aimpoint Micro moves it to Open Class, but a 28" barrel and 12 round mag tube is perfectly 'tactical'.I see your in Alexandria. Swing by Sharpshooters any Monday evening, we're usually talking 3 gun and competition all evening.
T I'm a member. The first rule about sharpshooters is you don't talk about it. Lol. Mondays I will keep that in mind. Y'all got any uppers in stock?

For any one that has a jm pro is the mag follower orange or just plain steel? I was reading a thread that said that. Mine is just steel. BTW I love the darn thing. Its more fun and cheaper to shoot than my stag 3G.

I'm sure I'm not ruinning the gun wet enough. It happend only once last weekend. I sprayed the bolt with CLP and it didn't happen again. I'm now oiling and using cLP. I will mess around in a week or so and give an update.
I've not loaded my pmags fully as that is a shit ton of money. Luckily ammo prices are coming back to reasonable levels and I can even afford more pmags now. (that was not a political statement, just fact)

I haven't shot a three gun match but I'm prepared. I got it all. Including a 22' JM pro. I've been reading all the shotgun threads because I see that the shotgun can be the make it break or it weapon for most matches. I've seen three matches and it's plain to see that the guys that have the shotgun loading down do better. My question is, is barrel length that important and why? I love my shorty JM Pro. I've been shooting trap and skeet with it for practice. I can hit flying birds pretty far out there with full choke with the 22' barrel. I got a 28' ported barrel so it's better for long distance trap and skeet. I also orderd up a new Nordic tube that will give me 13+1 with the 28'. If I understand the rules for tac optics I can start with 8+1 load as many as I can and start the stage as long as the ports are covered. I've read the threads on how to do this.
It seems like the trend is moving towards longer barrels. I also don't understand why a ported barel would move you to open. With a shotty how much difference could ports make? Is it that much of an advantage?
In short what is the difference between a short barrel and a longer one for three gun? Can 6' really be that different?

It happened once last weekend. Tried several mags. I think my rifle may not be wet enough. In just usin CLP.

I got the voodoo tactical 3gun 46 inch bag. Fits my mossberg jm pro 22 and my stag 3G just fine. Nice quality.
-
And the problems are what??
-
I've been tracking ammo .223/5.56 daily and I do see a downward trend on price. I hope it keeps up. I'm still sure my Stag 3G is worth more than I paid, that said I'm not selling. I want to shoot.
Nice info.

Thank goodness it's over.

I've run across problems with brand new Pmags before. Fill em up and shoot em a time or two and see if that fixes it.
If it's not a mag problem there's already been plenty of good advice.
Sounds good I'll do it. At current ammo cost I'll suffer the failure durring a match though as I'm a newb. I can only get better.

Before you load that second mag look at the position if the first cartridge. A lot of times, particularly with guns that don't have muzzle breaks, that top round can slide forward. Sometimes you won't even be able to get it in the gun. Might just be a bit out of position when the bolt is trying to pick it up.
Good point. I've tried to make sure that doesn't happen. I'll figure it out. I'm still thinking operator error is the cause.

That's nothing, this one actually SOLD for $3000, and had 10 idiot bids as well.

Wow. Think I could get 5800 for my stag 3G? I'd sell it for that.
-
Are you loading 31 rds in your Pmags? Can you seat the mag with the bolt closed?
Hurley
No each mag had less than five rounds. I was practicing mag changes. Yes, my pmags seat positively with the bolt closed.
-
well it was the last stage of the 3 gun shoot. started pistol, then 4 slugs followed by 8 birdshot all goes ok.... i unload and show clear completely my rifle sitting on the table next to me..... i sat there for about 5 seconds before someone in the background yelled rifle....
yaaa, my bad... lol
all in good fun... LOL
Awesome. I hope my first f up is this funny and not a DQ.
-
Er the bolt release that is.
-
It's only the second mag. I'm thinking it's me. Perhaps I'm not being aggressive enough with the mag release? I'll number my mags and try them again at the range.
-
Front sight is backwards
I'm sure that's because it has a better racy look that way.
-
Plenty of .17 HMR at Cabelas today, wonder if that would make minor?
Lol. I just spent a bit of time looking at .17hmr rifles because that's the only ammo I regularly see. I can't make myself buy one yet.

Feed ramps look good.

Yesterday I encounterd a strange feeding issue with my new stag3g.
I would empty a mag, change mag and the first round would partially feed. The bolt would lock back fully and after inserting the mag I would release the bolt, I have a bad lever, that's when the round would partially feed after empty mag, bolt locked back, change mag, releasing bolt to strip the first round from the new mag. Using the forward assist several times would feed the round and lock the bolt. Runs fine from there, no FTE or FTF.
I have a Troy designs ambi mag release installed also. Gun is cleaned and lubed with CLP and running a bit wet. I'm shooting pmc .223 55gr, new brass from pmags. I did just spray a bit of CLP in the buffer tube so next time I'll see if that makes a difference. The rifle has perhaps 100 rounds through it. And has been perfect other than this issue yesterday.
I've read many posts on ar feeding issues but none really cover this. any ideas.

I'm going to count up my 9mm rounds and keep them right in the ammo box until this nuttyness is over. I want my american eagle from Walmart at 13.95 for 50.

This is caused by the spring assembly in the barrell not being centered perfectly. If the gun is hard to reassemble this is the likely cause. I used a large deep socket to center mine. I polished up the scratched and its fine. Assembly is now much easier.
