Hi All,
What’s the benefits of having a double side scope mount? Is it worth switching over from single side to dbl side mount?
Any advices would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info, it really help.
Appreciated.

I think that's a 9 major load, and I beleave he is asking for 38s. I shoot 38sc load is 8.7 HS6 with PD 124 JHP oal is 1.230, 172pf. That's out of my atlas chaos. Oh and 8# recoil spring with 17# mainspring.
Thx

I am a fan of AutoComp. I run 7.8 WAC WITH MG 115JHP or 7.4 with MG 121IFP. Both at around 1.167
Thank you.

The flattest my Cheely Open gun ever shot was with a 7# spring. It put my pairs closer together than any other spring. BUT I had to keep the gun spotless or it would hiccup. I don’t like to clean after every match so I went back to an 8# variable per Matt’s recommendation.
That’s what I’m thinking too.
Would you mind share your load data.
I thinking of using HS6 or Accurate 7.

Don't go to light or you'll beat the hell out of your gun. You don't want your brass ejecting 10ft away from you, then your spring is too light. Your comp, popple holes, weight of your slide, etc come into factor to determine your recoil spring weight. Don't just be "cool" and run a light spring just to say so.
I try to get my brass to fly about 4-5 ft away from my gun
Hi big boy69,
I will have 7-10lb springs on hand and find the best one that will work best for the gun. Thanks for the info.

Heck no. Most everybody I know shooting Open uses an 8 or even a 7.
Really. That’s good to know, I might try that too.

Wolff 8# recoil
ISMI 17# mainspring
When you use 8 on recoil, Do you feel like you are waiting for the slide to close?

I was running a 15 or 16 lb main spring and a 10lb recoil spring. But a lot of other things come into factory on what springs you run.

Agree, I used to use 10 recoil and 19 main for my single stack.
I’m going to a new div., is a different animal. Thx

Hi everyone,
Which recoil & main spring rate do you use for 38Super?
-
I did and they weren’t interested.

Appreciated all the info. Will give it a try

Thank you everyone, I definitely will give it a try.

I have a G35 and the ejection pattern is all over the place.
Can someone please show me how to tune the ejector or extractor?
Thx

I ran about 50 rounds of hs6 and 135gr through it this morning and I just wasn't getting a very good or consistent burn with such a slow powder. Maybe I would have better luck with WSF but I threw a lb of power pistol on my last powder order and I'll wait until I can try a few of each side by side.
I'm going to try some 180s with hs6 next and see where that takes me.
I'm not really concerned with the cost of 180s vs 135s but I already use hs6 in another gun and I use 180s in my limited load. I do like the idea of being able to use components I already have.
The original owner had a large collection of competition guns that never really saw any use. I don't think he was a reloader and I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if it was never fired at all. The recoil spring still has the colored paint on it indicating weight.
I had the same issue with HS6, that’s why I went to Univeral. It seems ok so far and I’m getting kinda lazy to try different powder

I run a Glock 35 with lighten slide, stainless steel custom Mount with holosun Reddot. It runs fairly good and I’m very happy with it.
Less problem than 9mm major forsure.

I picked this up recently because my coworker has one and I always wanted one. Plus it shares clothes with the cz ts I use in limited.
So far I've only shot it with a few rounds of my old limited load of a precision bullets 170 moly coated on top of Bullseye at 1.135 and it was surprisingly flat and soft considering it isn't an ideal load for something with a comp.
I'm going to whip up some test loads with different weights and some slower powders over thanks giving. I wish there was more load data out there for these old modified division guns.
I have a Open Glock 35 and I use 6.9gr of Hodgdon Universal Powder with 135gr berry. I like the Universal more than HS6.
Give it a try.
I didn’t like Autocomp and Longshot.

I'm working with Autocomp and 155gr Xtreme bullets. Liking the results so far.
I have tried AC too and I'm looking for something abit softer cause I'm running a Glock 35 with 2 popper holes and custom comp. thx.

Has anyone tried using Alliant Blue Dot
or Accurate No7 for your Open 40? And what's your input?
I have tried HS6 with 155 and 165 gr bullet and would like to find a slower powder. Didn't like longshot for sure.
Thx

I find HS6 is the softest then AC then longshot.

I think delta point is the best bet cause I know RTS 2, Trijicon and Vortex have problemssssss.
But im gonna try the holosun, I need it the weight to keep the gun down.

Thx everyone,
I’m running a Akai 38SC with single side mount / C more slide ride red dot. The dot doesn’t leave the glass but I would like to improve the dot movement as much as possible. Try to gain an edge over my buddies, Muhahaaaaaaa
greatly appreciated
