  1. The joke was obvious to me when he claimed to be holding the new rule book and it was obviously a phone book.

    It was pretty funny overall.

I could spend a whole entire lazy evening watching Youtube videos and be more entertained and "informed" than with regular TV.

That was actually NOT a Phone Book, but a Fund Raiser Coupon Book sold by Schools to raise funds for the PTO's!!

I have a pile of them here at home.

  2. I believe the reasoning was due to its manner in which the striker is released. Where glocks and m&p's have some rearward travel during the trigger pull. Whereas the xd is more of a straight release of the striker like a single action firearm. It's not "cocking" and releasing in the same pull. I can see it not changing unless the company changes it since the gun as defined by the manufacturer is a single action pistol therefore an organization classifying which firearms are allowed in different divisions by action type it would be logical and prudent to defer to the manufacturers specs even if its commonly believed to be otherwise as to avoid others attempting to bend the rule around to be able to use other "close but not really" guns. Just like some of the idpa rules for procedures can be frustrating its in there for a reason and still must be adhered to as to not incur pelalty.

I agree with you 99.99%, but OTOH, The XD and XDm are "Striker Fired" ;)

I think The IDPA Tiger Teams are trying to be more Inclusive and help grow the sport, grow membership and RETAIN membership.

You can always use the XDm.XD in ESP and be super competitive!!

  3. I shoot my XDm9 5.25 in ESP, but.....

I want to wait and see what the new IDPA Rulebook says, tons of shooters have been clamoring for the XD and XDm to be included in SSP.

The whole issue with SSP and the XD and XDm was the way Springfield Declared the pistol with BATFE, the declared it as a "SINGLE ACTION PISTOL"

IDPA went with that description, but we all knot that the XD and XDm IS NOT a "SINGLE ACTION PISTOL"

Waiting patiently for the new book to come out for member review.

  4. I think part of the issue is that the phrases "hands relaxed at sides" and "hands above shoulders" have a lot of slack in them and we, as shooters and stage designers, have let that slack be played in the name of "freestyle". One way to stop this would be better, more specific starting positions in the stage descriptions.

Perfect response, I couldn't have said it better myself!!

  5. She mostly shoots IPSC where the belt can be worn at hip level for women in Production. She most likely did not realise the USPSA belt position is waist level for men and women. Her setup was legal in IPSC.

I don't know this shooters, but when I went back to my hometown and shot under IPSC Rules, it was MY responsibility to make sure that my rig was legal for the IPSC rules and MY fault alone if I didn't follow the rules for the game I was playing.

I was placed in Open at the 2005 Area 3 because I had a Plastic Grip Plug on my G17, My bad, I didn't read Production Rules, I didn't have anyone but ME to blame.

  6. I tried searching, but I would like to see a nice Major Load for Reinier 230 Gr FMJ with Vhit N320.

Please, don't tell me to use something else, that is what I have now.

The Vhit book doesn't have anything for the 230Gr Reinier Bullet, the only data they have is for the 230Gr FMJ Hornady.

The minimum load is 4.9 Gr of N320 and it ran 181.7 PF at the WSSSC this past weekend, I'm looking for a nice 170PF, so around 740 FPS.

    Thanks.

  7. I had a pile of stuff I placed this morning at the Western States Single Stack Championships, someone decided they needed a Dawson ICE Magwell and Extra Insert more than I did, but neglected to pay the $50 I was asking for.

If they needed it that much and couldn't afford the $50, I would have GIVEN it to them, I didn't need it, nor did I want it. It was just collecting dust. Just don't take it and walk away it's not that I didn't have an Excel spread sheet with descriptions and prices under the stuff....

  8. Not a single Limited M or GM shooter I have talked with (and who pays for his own powder), is using N320 or other V-V powder. There are more than a few, who say they do not like the recoil of N320. The most popular amongst them seems to be Clays. The competitive edge may not be huge, but why pay more money for something you get disadvantage with ?

Sadly, those shooters are not sharing their knowledge here. They may be training right now and will kick my ass badly in my next match :)

I guess we know different GM's then...

I know these guys are not exactly good shooters, but...

    Ron Avery

    Bennie Cooley

    K.C. Eusebio

    Don Golembieski

    Angus Hobdell

    Doug Koenig

    Rob Leatham

    J.J. Racaza

    Phil Strader

    Mike Voigt

    They all shoot Vhit.
