With 400 people shooting Single Stack at Pasa at the SSN in May, you'd think there'd be a few Single Stack shooters show up for the Area 5 match at the same range in June, but the division is looking pretty thin. I'm not sure if we even have our 10 to make it an official division yet. As it stands now, all the SSers are B,C, and D shooters. I could conceivably have a good match and win - that can't be right.
I'll email Ray and see if he needs any more help. If so Teepy and I might make it and I will shoot SS, B class. Heck I might just go anyway to beat up on Gary......that's always fun.

I am new to USPSA and I've only been competing in IDPA for about a year. I'm considering going to Area 5 just for the experience.
Go for it. There are more shooters and more noise........it's just a bigger match if you are getting started. My son shot the nationals when he was 9 years old with an area 6 and state match under his belt...and didn't come in last. You will have fun and be much more prepared for the next one. edit:spelling

Teepy got his yesterday. Move to logistics.

I can second the approval of the family restrauant in Frostproof. In two days I had four meals there...cheeseburger lunch...ribeye supper.....cholesterol 300+....but it's good food and I burned it off at the range. Breakfast rocks too.

Hi Phil...First Coast IDPA is having a classifer the 2nd Saturday in April. snicker-snicker

I just heard....
From a little bird....
The slots are mailed today!!

Teepy just got the call. I have no idea how we are going to get the time away from school or find the funds but Viva Las Vegas!!!! The opportunity doesn't present itself every day.

I would suggest a Brazos. Great customer service and lifetime warranty (I guess that's Bob's lifetime). The only function issues were mag related. My limited gun runs flawlessly.

I should be there either way. Florida can't be any hotter than Tulsa in July, right?
Wait and see......even if it is a couple degrees less hot the humility will make it seem hotter. You got to be tough to shoot in Florida in July.

Yep, this sounds like a good un. I rekon the little pard and I'll saddle up and hit the trail again this summer.

Who is throwing their hat in to replace Gary Stevens?
There is no replacing Gary. One of you guys will succeed him though.

WHEW. Got home yesterday about 1pm. What a match! Teepy and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a real treat to run you guys and see you shoot. I hope all enjoyed. Jake, Aaron, the set up crew, and everyone else involved stumped their toes on this one (Southernism for exceptional job). Hope to see everyone next year, if not sooner.

Oh yeah, that motivates me to get the new limited gun built
You know someone who can do that by March?

Although I sent this in an email earlier to all of the competitors, I'll post it here just to be safe.
The Pro-Am ranges will be OFF LIMITS to everyone until Thursday at 9:00am. After that time NO COMPETITOR will be allowed to walk on the stages until they have pre-registered at the Main Lodge.
Everything seems to be coming together...let's keep our fingers crossed.
Phil
Best of luck Phil. I'm certain it will be a splended match. Sorry we can't make it this year....We'll shoot for next. Terry

Jake....any more updates? Has the range dried out? Are you still looking for staff? We should be there Wednesday. Won't be long now. I hope you had a good holiday.

I have to ask why? This is really not an observer game.
I have to agree with you there. I would dare say no observer gets the enjoyment the shooter does. I can see a couple of reasons to try to encourage spectators though. The sport would surely gain participants. Were not most of us hooked the first time we saw a match? Having more shooting sports in general in the media will help move them more towards the mainstream. Once people see what it is all about, the fun, the comradarie, and personal rewards involved folks that had no idea what shooting sports were perhaps would regard them in a more favorable light. It could just be very good PR and help the sport grow.

He must have had a speech problem it's jawja. Ya gotta love it.

If you made it 5 years in Georgia you qualify. Heck, I have blood relatives from up North, I even like it there (don't let that get out).

Jim, Thanks again to you and Dale and all the staff for a great match. Here's hoping you guys do decide to jump into the barrel for another go at it. I was pleased to see that there is at least ONE benefit to getting more "senior" Where do I need to send the FFL to ,to claim my prize? Sorry if I missed that info. Blown away by the quality of the match. Jim Shema

Hey Jim...I emailed Dale, sent him a FFL and PMed you about getting my loot (GP6). Haven't heard anything. Can you help??? I'm itching to put some rounds through it.
Terry
Keep your Panties on there Mr. Porter, it should ship out this week.
JT
Thanks man. I don't usually win anything. I can stir up some patience. I'm glad there isn't an isssue with shipping loot below the Mason=Dixon Line. I noticed some of the northern bretheren had gotten theirs. TP

Wow....what a great match! Although I turned in one of my worst performances in recent memory I throughly enjoyed the entire experience. After shooting Thursday I was contemplating changing sports, totaly humilating performance with more penalities than I normallly aquire in a year (I soon came back to my senses). The stages were, if I dare say, Nationals quality. The top shooters I talked with about them all said the stages were difficult, although they made them look like a walk in the park.
ROing the rest of the match was rewarding. Larry got us through with only 3 re-shoots, that's about .08%. Not too shabby. The Vestals came to the rescue on Saturday and it was fun at the games for the rest of the match. To top it all off I even won a pistol!
Thanks to the ROs, MDs, RM, Mr. Fixits, Waterman, Stats gurus, cooperative and gracious competitors, and everyone else that helped pull the match off. No small effort. Stay well all...I hope to see you next year. TP
Where to start with my 9 year old princess?

The age to start ipsc is, I think, dependent on the kid's level of maturity and self disipline. My son shot his first Nationals, production division, when he was 9 and didn't come in last. I had several shooters suggest I change him to limited division so he could concentrate on shooting not reloads and he took off from there.
