I hate the fear mongering of 10+ magazines.
Does it really matter if someone has 10 x 10 shot mags or 5 x 20 shot mags or 3 and a bit x 30 shot mags? They still have the same number of rounds with around an extra 5-10 or 15 seconds in total for reloading.
Where's the 'massive' safety for the public in this loss of freedom as espoused by so many people calling for a ban on 'high capacity' magazines?

Could be that they are showing more class than the anti-gun groups. They are showing respect for the poor souls who are laying their children to rest by not screeching at the top of their lungs as other folks are doing. They know they have a huge uphill climb to save our rights. Most of what they do is behind the scenes as it is. Show a bit of class and give them a bit of slack.

Sorry it's poor form IMO and will bite all of us on the backside ........ it looks like we're ASHAMED to be gun owners and thats exactly how the media are reading it.

This did surprise me, but when I see that the NRA has taken down their Facebook and Twitter sites, why wouldn't the NBC!

IMO a MASSIVE backwards step. You either have something to be ashamed of or you don't.
This is NOTHING but pandering and will be brought up over and over again as a big stick. "If the national body of firearms owners take down there own Facebook and Twitter pages, something must really be wrong with owning guns".

The NRA has taken down their Facebook page and Twitter account because of last Fridays tragedy.
To me thats a backwards step and makes gun owners somehow seem 'dirty' and 'culpable' because even a national body seems 'embarressed'.

There is going to be some far reaching gun control measures from this shooting, never before have the politicians and law makers have had such an opportunity than what they have been presented with now after the utter tragedy of the murder of these young innocents.

How they p#ss me off LOL one always manages to get caught and makes it a pain in the backside to slide the primer tray out and I always spill a few primers.

What exactly does "out of battery" mean?

When I adjust a taper crimp die, no matter the caliber, the procedure is the same: Put a sized, unflared, empty case into the last postion. Pull the handle down. Let go of the handle. With my fingers only, screw the die down until I feel it contact the case mouth. Lift the handle up slightly, hold it there while I screw the die down an additional 1/4 turn. Push the handle down, running the case back up into the die. With the case up in the die, tighten the die lock ring.
The Dillon seat die does not remove the flare completely. However, it will remove any excess flare :ie, if the case is excessively flared that it contacts the interior of the die body, it will be reduced.

Hi Jack,
I've used Lyman and Lee dies for around 30 years and this is the first time I've used Dillon.
The seating die is definately not only seating the projectile, but also taking the bell out of the case mouth (crimping??) I've checked with calipers before seating and after seating. Even using calipers I can't get the crimp die to do (or feel) as if its doing anything.
I'll be back out in the reloading room again today mucking around some more.

My Dillon seating die pretty much takes out the bell.
It doesn't feel like my Dillon crimp die is doing a whole lot (or I haven't set it up right) I'm used to a Lee FCD.

Let your dog stick it's head in and have a smell and see if it can locate the exact location of whatever is stinking. At least then you'll know where to look and what to start taking apart.

Happier today. Last two stations now have Lyman split lock rings on them (yeehah!!! no more spanner!!!) didn't realize until someone wrote that they really tighten up (after being done up finger tight) when you use the allen key to nip them up. They really lock down!

How do YOU set the crimp die on your Dillon 9mm dies using lead (coated) projectiles?

The wrench I'm using is just a standard mechanics 1" wrench.
A 1" socket works ok if I take the clips out of the last two dies.

Dillon sells 1" lockrings that make adjustments way easier. Pick up a pack along with the 1" wrench. It'll make your life easier.
Is this them?
Pretty sure thats what came with my machine.
