  1. Put up some pics if you would, I'd like to see the port work. I added a c-rum lifter, modified the shell latch, and beveled the hand guard on a VM tactical and it's already great. I haven't felt the need to do much else to it, but I'd like to see what good port work looks like.

  2. I did a friends rifle with a voodoo carrier, Slr gas block and 3 oz rifle buffer which would be comparable to a JP LMB, he eventually went down to empty buffer and preferred it. You could always go down increments and see what you like.

  3. What you could do is offer a complete basic upper, something a customer can throw on their lower and go. For instance, the base could be the upper, a barrel of your design, standard BGC, thread protector, a basic HG, etc. Maybe throw on a little laser MOA logo . On top of that offer options/upgrades that you feel would complement the upper you're offering. Options could be things like lightened BCG, muzzle device of your picks, maybe a couple different charging handles, handguards, etc. for customers to pick from. I think this would be your best way of putting out a product that is signature MOA Precision while still appealing to wider group of people.

  4. Port door or not? yes

    Forward assist or not? No

Light as possible, or not important? Light weight within reason

Barrel length, gas length, contour, and twist? Fluted? intermediate 16" or rifle 18", ~2lb finished contour maybe a few oz's lighter, 1/8 twist

Ship with no comp so customer can pick their own, or a proven, practical design like the Miculek that can be replaced if customer wants different? No comp, way too many choices. Maybe A2 hider or thread protector

Extended latch (gunfighter, raptor, other, or factory)? Factory. Again, many choices for everyone.

Brass deflector, or weight savings? Brass deflector

Light carrier and adj gas? yes for adj gas, leave BCG for customer's choice.

    Handguard length? 13"+

  5. I turned mine my 18" SPR profiled barrel down, I only lost a few oz's but it's better balanced. I didn't lose any accuracy over it either. Balance is more important than overall weight, it could be a 5lb rifle, but it still wouldn't be fun if all the weight way out in front. I think barrel profile, handguard and comp choices have a big impact on balance being that those items are furthest away from the shooter. A heavier stock can also help with bringing some of the weight closer to the shooter.

  6. What barrel profile did you go with? what kind of reduction in weight?

BCM offers one profile for their stainless 18" barrels, which is a SPR profile. The profile is considered a mid weight profile, but I wanted it lighter for 3-gun use. I had a gunsmith take it down from .850 to .780 under the HG, .720 past the gas block. That saved about 8 oz and maintained the same accuracy.

  7. I was hoping someone would have one that they use for 3 gun, I'm really looking at getting a 18" SS KMR upper from them and this post pushed me over the edge.

I built mine up with 13" KMR handguard as well. I have mine reprofiled too, so the balance is at a good point for me. I've shot Black Hills, Norma, Fiocchi, and Nosler, All either 69 or 77smk's and it'll get me to .5moa if I remember how to pull a trigger correctly.

Good chance that is an anomoly... Especially if we are talking 200 yards and 5 round groups.

Quick internet search will show their generally regarded as a decently accurate barrel. I wouldn't put it up there with kreigers, liljas, etc. but it'll definitely get the job done. I think they're produced by criterion, which seem like a decent barrel maker.
  8. how often does one need to readjust their gas? I haven't needed to readjust mine since I put my rifle together, seems like a set and forget type deal to me. I wouldn't warrant the need to have it adjustable on the fly unless the rifle is switching from a suppressor to no suppressor regularly.

  9. I would check the magazine spring, then the carrier spring and possibly the feed latches. Notice you have a longer tube on it check to make sure it has adequate spring tension. If that seems in order see if the carrier spring is not working properly, it's known to weaken over time and not lift the shell all the way into the chamber. If that does end up needing to be replaced a 1100/870p carrier spring is an upgrade from the standard one. If the feed latches are sticking, check the action bars, the feed latch is pressed over by the action bars to allow shells to feed from the tube by the beveled part of the action bars and it may not be catching to push it over. The problem is with either the feed latches or action bars.

  10. I just installed a SSS esp magwell onto mine, can't say I was thrilled about the install. Upon installing it, it would jam up against the mag extension and not drop the mag when needed to. Ended up having to dremel back side of the stud and magwell to gain clearance, I needed to take off quite a bit to have it drop freely. So much for being designed for TTI extensions. Anyone else run across this problem with TTI extensions and esp magwell?

  11. I switched mine from samson evo 15" to kmr 13", and it was a big change. It was an easy 7oz drop in weight, and the balance is now more toward the back. Reminds me of my govt profile 16" rather than a somewhat front heavy 18" and accuracy stayed the same.
