OK so I am moving from production class to SS. In production I can make ready with 11 rounds in the gun. I totally understood that from my first match. Now that I am going to shoot SS with a 45. I have a question. the standard 1911 mags only hold 8 rounds in a 45cal. But I can make ready with 9 in the gun. Do you SS shooters use a 10 round mag with 9 rounds in it. Or do you drop 1 round in the chamber and use your standard 8 round mags when you make ready?
Thank you,
Mark

First let me say this place is great! I have been lurking for some time know and just joined a couple of days ago. I live in a suburb St.Paul MN. On Thursday evenings I try to get out to Oakdale Gun Club for there USPSA match. I am currently shooting in the production class with a Taurus 24/7 OSS Tactical pistol in 45 auto.

I just started shooting a 1911. It is a bone stock Rock Island armory Tactical ll FS. I have put more than 1500 rounds down the tube and it has not had one FTF or FTE yet. I have fed it factory 230 stuff all the way to my reloads which include 200 gr RN Bayou Bullets, 200gr Berry's FP and 200 gr LSWC.
