Hello all,
Let me clarify the match stage questions. The stages are approved, but are not yet posted to the match web site which is:
The stages have not yet been assigned bay numbers. The match team is meeting next weekend to get them numbered.
I will post them on the match site shortly afterwards.
i will collect and post all match information on the site as it becomes available. Currently the match sponsor page is growing every day. You will also find hotel information and directions.
If you need anything please feel free to let us know and the match team will get it posted.

May Match Announcement - North East Ohio Shooters NEOS is happy to announce our first match: Saturday, May 9th at 9:00am.
LOCATION: ARO Group is located at 1500 Alliance Road, Deerfield OH 44411 (1/4 mile north of Rt 224). Look for their sign and the target at the entrance. Please be aware, the range has recently undergone major renovations and there are still a few muddy spots. Plan accordingly please.
STAGES: This month’s match will be 3 field courses and 2 classifiers. Round count is approximately 120 rounds.
Stage 1 – Split Down the Middle
Stage 2 – Choices 2
Stage 3 – X-Factor
Stage 4 – Can You Count (06-03)
Stage 5 – Tick-Tock (13-05)

REGISTRATION: We ask that everyone pre-register online thru Practiscore. The match is open to USPSA members and non-members. You may also register in person the day of the match if you need to, but please make an effort to register on line. Registration on match day will open at 9:00am and first shots will be shortly after that. All shooters must sign in or register before 10:00am.

PAYMENT: The match fee is $20 per shooter. For this match there will be no re-shoots (we will be offering them in the future). We are able to accept payment online thru Practiscore. The day of the match, we will accept cash and credit cards for payment on site. If you choose to pre-pay thru Practiscore, please note your payment is nonrefundable if you do not show up. If you notify us before the match starts that you cannot be there, we will then credit your payment towards the next match (only the next scheduled match, not any match). No show, no notify means your match fee becomes a club donation.
MATCH: We will be doing a few things differently for our matches and hope they will provide you with the best experience possible:
- There will be no squading. You will be able to shoot with whomever you would like.
- You can shoot the stages in whatever order you would like.
- Each stage will have a static RO’s who are not shooting.
- When you check in, you will be given a registration card. After the shooters meeting, you will take your card to any stage and give your card to the timekeeper. This timekeeper will use the card to put you in line to shoot. YES, we will still need you to help paste and set steel while you are waiting.
We are hoping this system will allow people to shoot with their friends and at the pace they like (fast or leisurely). If this works out, we hope to move to rolling and earlier starts in the future.
SCORING: We will be using Practiscore to score the match. Match scores will be posted from the range to Practiscore at the end of the match before we leave the range and shortly after to USPSA.

I just recently bobbed my 627 hammer and was wondering, since Smith flash chromes them at the factory, is there any need to coat the bobbed hammer?
I polished the cut contour to a mirror finish and really hate to do anything else.

8.3.6 “If You Are Finished, Unload And Show Clear” or “Unload and
Show Clear” – If the competitor has finished shooting, he must lower
his handgun and present it for inspection by the Range Officer with the
muzzle pointed down range, magazine removed, slide locked or held
open, and chamber empty. Revolvers must be presented with the
cylinder swung out and empty.
If a competitor has been stopped by the Range Officer, they will be
given “Unload and show clear” as the command.

It is important to distinguish between two commands.
If finished, unload and show clear.
Vs
Unload and show clear.
If the first is issued, as would've at the "normal" presumed end of a stage. It is a question, not a command. There is nothing in that "command" to stop the shooter from continuing to shoot as much as they want, as long as it is safe.
If "unload and show clear" is given, it is a command, most likely following "stop"

I have had excellent luck with the Berry's 124 gr hollow base bullets. The hollow base allows me to shorten up the round for good performance thru the Glock mags.

My newer model is my favorite tool on the bench. Loved it from day one and it only got better when I finally put it on a level table.
I plan on getting a second one to take the laziness to a new level and keep one for small primers and one for large.
I ran about 20k thru mine so far with no issues.

Midwest Gun Club in Canal Fulton has bowling pin shoots every Tuesday evening and Saturday evenings alternates between Defensive Pistol (IDPA Style, non-sanctioned) and USPSA (sanctioned)

At the moment, my primary concern is 125's at 1050 fps or 160's at 820 fps, lol.
When I start chasing the GM's, I will probably push the accuracy harder. For now, I am still very new (only about 2 years in USPSA and 1 year in revo) that if I can hit a mini popper at 25 yards, I am happy.
Way too many years in the past shooting olympic small bore. I would spend hours putting 60 rounds down range, so for now, fun is my primary concern.

Personally, I LOVE plugging hit factors into production scores and seeing where I place.

Currently the we have the same number of wheel guns as revos (many more than the 3)
The only solution I can see is to buy another revo or get rid of a bottom feeder.
I can not think of anything better then losing a match because there were so many good revo shooters there.
First of one makes it hard to keep pushing.

If I can get my loads chrono'ed to make sure they make minor, I think I will take both and decide there.
I decided to basically go with my 9 minor load, so I changed only the shell plate and sizing die in my press.
short colt brass sized with a 38 die
124 gr blue bullets (.357) CN (might switch to 125 gr RN blue bullets)
4.3 gr autocomp
taper crimp with the 9mm die

I went ahead and picked up a 627 pro. I figure if the 4" becomes an issue, it's just a great reason to buy another revo
)))I am currently working up 38 short colt loads and sorting thru bullet diameters.
Currently working with blue bullets at .357 with pretty good luck, but will experiment with it.

I am making sure they all get enough rounds so they don't get jealous of each other, LOL.
NOW, do I switch to 8-minor for the Florida Open or stay with 6-major.

Anyone have load advice?
I currently stock in quantity Clays and Autocomp, but also have some W231.
Bullet wise I usually use Montana Gold and Ibejiheads.
I thought the 160 RN Ibjis might make up an interesting load
The goal is to set up a load for short colt. Looking at many of the reloading data tables, I see the loads will not make minor but I am guessing the case pressure is based on older guns. I am guessing with a 627 I could push the pressure much higher, safely?

Very true, and I am thinking the 4" 627 would have the same feel and balance of my 4" 625.
Show up at a match, walk around a bit and then decide which to declare, 8-minor or 6-major based on the stages.
In theory, switching back and forth would be pretty seamless ................. I think, LOL

Great thoughts.
The 4" vs 5" is a real dilemma for me. It was really surprising running a stage, how sluggish I felt with the 5" gun. I am sure I would get used to it, but we do get comfortable, don't we?
