  1. I use Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics, 7.5, 1200 or 1250 FPS. The hulls are really consistent, and are readily available.

The biggest issue I see with the super cheap shells is inconsistent crimp, which can cause major feeding issues. I’ve opened boxes of federal top gun and found shot rolling around in the bottom of the box.

I have never seen a published rule set for outlaw 3 gun matches.

Even the regular 3 gunners I see at matches typically don't know the rules and argue over them because they never read a rule book.

I have never shot an major outlaw match that didn't have a published rule book. I will assume that you have never shot an outlaw match, and that's why you haven't seen one...

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I apologize for my absence. The registration is going smoothly. We have been setting up registrar and bank access. We are doing signature cards tomorrow (Friday, June 2). I will have the address information on where to send your checks then.

Bummer...I already have another match scheduled for Oct 8-10. Hate to miss this one, but previous commitments have to be honored.

  4. I've seen a lot of talk in the last year or so about the SOF match, and how amazing and great it was, and how 3-gun today is nothing like it used to be. I'm relatively new to this sport, my first major was TXMG in 2012, so my frame of reference is very limited.

I haven't seen the answer anywhere else, so I'll ask it here: why did SOF cease to exist? I'm genuinely curious about what happened to it. Does anyone who was there care to share the story?

  5. loading quads right now is not my priority, my problem is on the grabs, fingers are just not long or inclined to . so will stick with twins.

I can see your point with regards to M2's ergonomics when it comes to quads or even twins- credit to its forearm design.

My M2 is already sold, have it for 2 days, wish it comes more refined from the box ( shell catch, safety, bolt release ,trigger) especially I paid $400.00 more than my 1301.

Where did you pick yours up?

Are you looking for an M2? Or a 1301?

  6. I can load with both hands under 4 seconds, but prefer strong hand because the barrel is more parallel with the body and less likely to snag the mag tube on walls and barricades while moving and loading.

I'd challenge anyone to try to beat Nathan Payne's 2.6 load 8....regardless of hand. My best have been JUST under 3 seconds, and this weekend doing shot to shot load 8's were 3.28 seconds. I don't see a big advantage to one method over the other.

Is there video of that posted anywhere? I would very much like to see it, that is crazy fast.

  7. I hate to hear about all the drama, it sounds like Mr.Butler is absolutely a class act. My hat is off to him! I have to admit, I'm a bit confused as to why none of his friends or squad mates didn't go pick a rifle or shotgun out for him though. I know on the amateur side a lot of folks left early and had friends pick up prizes for them from the prize table.

Taran flies to a lot of matches, so everyone who knows him is accustomed to him leaving early to catch a flight. When match staff called his name and someone said 'Taran isn't here' everyone assumed he had asked someone else to collect his prize and trophy. Further attention was not brought to the situation when nobody appeared to collect for Taran, so none of the people who would have gladly walked for him were aware that someone hadn't already done it.

  8. Any chance someone has pictures of their M2 with magazine tube extensions? Trying to gauge how much longer a 10 shot or 12 shot magazine tube is compared to a 24", 26", or 28" barrel.

A Nordic +6 tube (9 total) is even with the end of the barrel on a 24" M2. The +7 tube (10 total) is even with the end of a 26" M2 barrel.

    Awesome, really appreciate that info.

Just curious... what length tube is everyone running for 3 gun in your area? Seeing quite a bunch of 12 shell tubes lately.

I run a 14 round tube in 3-gun. I'll be using a 12 at the World Shotgun Shoot in Italy next month because of tighter walls and ports. 12 is the norm here, I'm in central Texas.

Thanks for the info! What barrel length are you running?

26" on my main gun, my backup has 21" barrel and 12 round tube.
