  1. Maybe a dumb question but why would anyone need to count brass? I store brass in 5 gallon buckets - when I get below 2 buckets I know I should start picking it up again. It looks like an interesting way to see headstamps if you are one of those people who sorts them out.

I count it because I load on a single stage press. 100 primers per pack so I get 100 pieces of brass unless I'm doing a larger load but I always count it out in advance.

They used to call it anal retentive now they call it ADHD - whatever it is I like to keep my brass in bags of a 1000, that way when I run low I take that and a brick of primers and a box of projectiles and I assemble them all and I'm good for another 2 or 3 weeks lol

  2. Pretty much the way I have been doing it save for the fact that I was using 9mm trays and it doesn't work quite so well. Instead of using a piece of plywood I simply use another tray to flip the brass to look at the head stamp. I like the idea for the counting - up to this point I've been weighing them which is fairly quick but sometimes I'm out one or two. Nice video though! Cheers

  3. good morning gentleman! lately I have been experiencing problems posting through Tapatalk on my mobile phone. I am not sure whether it is a configuration problem or an update problem however these type of things tend to keep the webmasters busy thank you p.s it is very frustrating to type out a long reply with one finger and then find it doesn't post properly:( first world problems

  4. It's because of these guys that I've been working with Marvin the Martian to adapt a Uranium PU-36 Illudium radioactive space modulator to my truck.

Marvin the Martian: Oh goody! My illudium Q-36 explosive space modulator.

    [Kaboom]

Marvin the Martian: Well, back to the old drawing board.

  5. Ok here's what I do - I'm not saying it is right way but it is my way. I reload the same brass any number of times during my practice/testing range time but when I go to a match I let it go for the same reasons that others have given. At a match you can never be sure how many times the brass has been fired or at what degree of reloading proficiency the previous owner has had. During my practice range times however I can be sure of this because I'm the one who has loaded it! Sent from my SGH-I757M using Tapatalk

  6. Recently I bought a new scope for my AR 15 and I asked the retailer to mount it and laser sight it as part of the scope purchase price which he did. When he was done he said 'there you go this should be close'. So I took it to the range and set up some paper on a hundred yards. Well I didn't have a clue where the 1st couple of shots went so I took it over the 25 yard range just to find out where they were going, then over to the 50 yard range and then finally to the hundred. That laser sighter was not close at all or the guy did not know how to use it. I agree with the above especially for the 223 do the 50 - 200 combo Sent from my SGH-I757M using Tapatalk

  7. The only way to get rid of the stacking trigger in a Tanfoglio, is to walk over to the nearest door, open it, and throw the pistol as far as you can. But seriously I spent $150 at a gunsmith and it still stacks to a certain degree - it is simply the physics designed into the gun. Sent from my SGH-I757M using Tapatalk<br />

  8. I bought a Stag 3G upper and with one or two exceptions I'm very happy with it. Those exceptions are: The brake that comes on the barrel is worthless, I put a JP (JPTRE-2S)on it and it's great; the second issue I found was that there was a little more slop between the lower and the upper. I tried three different lowers, including a Firebird lower, so the extra play is in the Stag upper.

Other that that it shoots awesome and has mild recoil.

I also have a stag 3G and it is a great shooting rifle - love it! I changed out those two things as well as I went to a Magpul trigger guard and a Hogue AR 15 beavertail grip - no problems just personal preference

  9. Still we have a few who like to pick it up while everyone else is tearing down which I call being somewhat disrespectful. Let's keep the matches rolling and get it tore down, then worry about the brass.

Yes I think every club has these people they all cluster around the brass and try to grab as much as they can while everybody else is working tearing down the stages I call them s***Hawks however I try to ignore them

  10. I run a Titan, Wheaton and soon a seekins comp on my 3G rifles.

Hey Jesse - got myself a Stag 3G - great rifle - just not too happy with the comp.

Would you consider the JP Cooley comp - or would you stick to the ones you've listed?

  11. For the most part up here in ON every match is a lost brass match unless you stick around to help clean up the range and then the brass is divided equally among the workers. It all works out in the long run because when I visit ranges I leave my brass behind and when people visit my range then I get their brass so it all works out in the end and the squad moves along efficiently

  12. Read the USPSA production rules as that will be the main thing limiting what you can change or upgrade on the pistol.

Well not exactly what I was looking for - it was what works - what doesn't type of query.

eg - some say they like the Henning FO cuz it's bigger, some like Eric's grips - but not his base pads because they break -

Holsters - do you like the CR rig?

Pics - show us you setups - I haven't met anyone who doesn't like to show off their rig

So give it up and BTW according to Eric Grauffel, Tanfoglio should have a lighter mainspring published in May...

  13. Hey guys -

Got me a brand new (to me) Stock 3!

Looking for some input on Grips, Sights, Springs, Base pads, triggers and whatever else you guys can think of - I'm open to suggestions

What are you guys running ? BTW the guns' a 9mm and I'm planning to use it in Production - so nothing too wild !

  14. Got me a new rifle, a DPMS 3G1.

    It has a 1:8 twist and a 18" barrel.

I want to load Hornady 22 Cal .224 55 gr FMJ-BT with cannelure, (#2265b) using Varget powder.

Have you guys worked up any loads with this combo?

  15. Although I shoot Open I found this video VERY helpful for those times when I might need to help someone install a new fiber.

Thank You very much - my fiber optic fell out today and I had a couple of thoughts about repair, (soldering rod, glue) but had I known this - I could have fixed it at the range !!!
