  1. I cannot give info on TK's work, but I do have a 9mm converted cylinder for my 642-1...

If accuracy was affected with 9mm out of a .38 barrel, I couldn't notice it. Considering I didn't shoot the J-frame for a few months when I had the cylinder fitted, my first 45 rounds with it yielded me a 2" group at 15 yards. With more practice, like I usually do when the gun is in my carry rotation (my backup has been a SIG P938), I'm sure that I can get similar groups to when I was qualifying regularly with the .38 cylinder.

With that said, all guns are different. See how your loads work, and move from there. But I doubt you won't find something in 9mm that shoots good out of it.

  2. Preordered a 6 Plus at work yesterday... 128 GB in Space Grey. Email says delivered by 10/28. The Verizon website quoted me by 10/11.

My iPhone 5 still works, so I'm not worked up over that date. Gives companies some time to make cases before I start using the phone.

Opted for the 6 Plus being I do read off my phone a lot. Recoil magazine, forums via Tapatalk, emails, etc. If I just wanted a new phone, I could have got the 6 next Friday. However, you gain some battery life (from Apple's numbers) and a few other small upgrades with the Plus.

  3. Just logged in via Safari to post... same experience as others.

Unread will load as there is nothing new, but when I try to go into the forum manually (into the main page with subforum list), it just attempts to load but never does.

However, I think marking all as read works. Didn't have a lot unread, considering this has gone on for a few days. When I go through a forum on Tapatalk, I usually hit that button out of habit.

  4. The only company that does NP3 is Robar... however there are similar coatings offered by other companies.

As long as the gun isn't a long gun or has an alloy frame (this company doesn't strip anodizing), I use CCR. Great work, and their prices are very economic (turn around can be slow, but you can save a good amount compared to Robar).

Here are two of mine done in their cera-plate... however, I've done many magazines, bolt assemblies and barrels, as well.

Robar is another great company. I had my home defense 870 and backup J-frame done in NP3 Plus. Nice finish, so I paid the money to have those two guns done. They kept me informed along the way, especially when they had to redo the serial number on the heel (lightened up during the stripping).

  5. Dawson recommends a 305 for the 5 inchers with their rear. That is what I have and works fine. If I had a do-over I would get the 285. The 245 bottomed out before I got to the point of impact. 305 is tall and I can't quite figure out why Dawson didn't adjust the rear notch lower so the front would not be so tall.

    Contact Dawson on it...

I am getting the fixed rear for my 5-inch M&P40 Pro, and asked them which front would work (I didn't read the description on the rear fully, which recommends one for the long slides)? They said that if it doesn't work, they will supply a sight that does.

I looked at the adjustable, but didn't want the .305 front. Too tall for me.
