  1. In 2014 I created a post discussing my experience with the medium size range backpack.

After some discussion, CED replaced my pack in Sept 2014 as a courtesy. They were very clear that this deformation was to be expected. In the meanwhile, I purchased a Shooters Connection bag and used it. I finally put the replacement DAA backpack into service at the beginning of 2015 so have used it for 15 months now.

Summary: they were right. The deformation should be expected since it's happened again. Additionally, I have three broken zippers. Great bag in concept, poor longevity. I don't recommend spending $160 (plus $25 for shipping) because it just doesn't last long enough. My typical load is one 2011 or a 1911, plus 250 rounds of 40SW. Some misc like a timer, glasses, earplugs, some replacement parts like safety, slide stop...

  2. This is so weird. I bought a brand new Edge and brought it to my local gunsmith for a trigger job. I replaced the recoil master with a one piece guide rod and a 12b spring. It worked flawlessly.

I got STI 140mm tubes, TTI base pads, and grams followers with 11 coil springs. Again, perfect.

In a nutshell, I've had trouble free Edge and STI mags (no tuning).

  3. Well here's the weight: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&es_th=1&ie=UTF-8#q=weight%20cz%20phantom&es_th=1

My response isn't really a question, but a suggested alternative in consideration of your statement that the Phantom is discontinued.

Does anybody know the weight of the polymer CZ Phantom? I know it's discontinued. If it makes weight, any reason it wouldn't be suitable in the CO division?

    How about a CZ P-07 or P-09?

I don't understand your question. I specifically asked for the weight of the Phantom and any opinions as to it's use in CO.

  4. Yes, the Deltapoint (All Mount) 7.5MOA, not the "cross-slot" version. The manual states the torx screws are M4x.7mm. What size driver is it? T5, T10???

"THIS IS THE DUMBEST IDEA EVER" is what I thought months ago driving with friends to an area match when the topic of Production Optics arose.

I started USPSA with a Glock 34 and it is now my guest gun (friends from of town, teaching friends and kids how to shoot...) and sits ignored in the safe. So, I just ordered a Deltapoint 7.5MOA new for $300 shipped. Used Paypal so I can pay over six months with no interest. :)

I think it sounds like fun to try - at worst, I'm spent $300 and can either recover most of it through classifieds, or use it on an offset mount on my rifle.

    WOOHOO!!!!

Get a quality Torx wrench or you will trash the adjustment screws. Also, I have an pic offset mount for your rifle you can have to the paltry price of a few monkey meat snacks...

Thanks for the tip and the offer, Chuck. You really think that meat comes from something as high up the food chain as a primate?

Uncle Mike's stuff, yeah. In Olongapo City, not so much. But San Miguel made things OK. :surprise: Did you get the DP with all the mounts?

  6. LOL!!! Hope I don't get voted off the squad, but i feel I must try it before I criticize it. Test and learn. :)

Your friends are worried about you...

In all seriousness, it will be interesting to see how your experiment goes!
  7. There are a lot of mounts out there that fit into an existing dovetail, I have one on my XDM. No milling of the slide is required for most guns.

What has been your experience with the dovetail mount? Would be cheaper to try it out and see if you like it before buying a new gun thats already milled or milling an existing gun.

The Deltapoint comes with dovetail mounts for many pistols. Per their website:

"The DeltaPoint Kit comes with a complete mounting system compatible with most common handguns including:

    Beretta 92

    Beretta 90-TWO

    Beretta 96

    Taurus PT99

    Glock 17

    Glock 22

    Glock 23

    Glock 26

    HK-P2000

    SIG SAUER P226

    Smith & Wesson Revolvers

    Smith & Wesson Classic

    Smith & Wesson M&P

    1911 Standard (Colt)

    CZ 75

    Springfield XD

    Kimber Adjustable

    Kimber Fixed"

  9. Hmm... I don't know what to make of it other than to say try the 4.2gr and see if it improves.

I have a 9mm Springfield that will NOT shoot Xtreme. It's great with jacketed, but will not group with Xtreme or other plated bullets...

Very accurate through a 5" STI barrel. I suspect you're not getting enough velocity to stabilize. Are the bullets tumbling at all? Keyholing in the paper?

    Lester

No, no obvious keyholing. But looking over my targets I do see one hole on the last and worst target where the grease ring is lopsided. Clean circle where the flat point sailed through the paper but a wierd oblong grease ring only on one side. A couple others with grease rings that are just slightly less than concentric.

But if stabilization is my issue, things are getting worse the faster I push them. The starting load was pretty decent. 2.5" wide and 4" tall all with perfectly circular holes and concentric grease rings.

Okay, I must eat crow and aknowledge my mistake. I have updated my original post above with the correct load and chrono data. Away from my data I had mistakenly thought my test loads were in the 4.3 through 4.9 grain range. They were not, instead they were instead 3.4 through 3.9. Winchester's published data shows 3.8 as a max load for a Hornady XTP jacketed bullet at 1.125" and I had hoped to make major at or just over those max charges.

After reviewing my data I suppose that I could venture a few 10ths higher, but I still have a major accuracy issue with the higher charges. Those who are making major, how is the accuracy? I like to see 4" groups or less at 25 yards from a rest and I often get 2" or better with cast lead.

I apologize for my mistake and appreciate everyone's input.

  11. Just received confirmation this morning.

"This email is confirmation of your spot in the WSSSC match.

There was an error on the match dates on the application. The WSSSC - Match correct dates are November 13-15, 2015

Self-squadding for the match will be done on the USPSA web page at a later date. All non-members and parents of juniors must sign the Liability Waiver Form."

Chuckie, what does it say at the bottom of your personal match management page

"We have not approved you to shoot yet. You will receive an email when you have been approved"
  12. i'm used to seeing a more detailed listing in the other sport i used to shoot. basically i'm trying to see how many people in prod and b class without having to scroll through 434 names individually and then enter their uspsa number. doesn't seem to be that detailed of a report. thank you though.

You are welcome. I am still trying to get used to the fact that Rio uses PS. Perhaps someday we may even use it in SoCal :roflol:

Well, the good news is that you are tied with Sevigny...

    See you tomorrow!

I was told by one of the members of Linea De Fuego that they will begin using PS next month.
