[Thoughts on CFE for 45?]

I use 5.7 grains of CFE with an OAL of 1.26x A 230 grain Rainier plated RN. Have made thousands of them. No issues.

[Anyone using CFE Pistol for 45 acp.?]

5.7 grains under a 230 gr. .45 ACP Rainier plated RN. OAL 1.270. Meters well (550b) and decent accuracy. Just bought 8 lb. more. Don't know about the copper claim yet, only fired 30 rounds so far. No crony so no PF data.

Using 5.7 grains under a 230 gr. Rainier plated RN, OAL 1.27x. Good accuracy out of a Ruger SR 1911, mixed brass. Still not enough rounds to judge copper fouling. Meters well in a Dillon 550b. Don't use a chrony.

I load 5.8 gr of Unique under a Rainier plated 230gr RN. OAL 1.27.. Good accuracy and soft recoil in a S&W 1911 Government.

[Powder sticking to sides of powder hopper]

Static builds from powder rubbing against sides of hopper. Ever rub paper across your hair and slowly pull it away? You'll see that individual hairs will be pulled up. That's static electricity. So

1. Empty hopper and rub inside with a used dryer sheet.

2. Some folks then take that sheet and fold half of it over into the hopper and use a rubber band around the half on the outside. Then fill the hopper.

I place a used sheet on top of the powder. Others use different techniques.

When I assembled the press I snapped in the white shoulder washer. The press works great. When I want to remove the powder measure I have to unscrew the nut because I can not slide the shoulder out of the bracket opening. Have not forced anything yet. Should I pull down on the shoulder unit until it pops out of the bracket or pull hard sideways? Videos show it being pulled out (downward) easily. Thank you for you help.
