As Ed and Parsons have said. MCC courses are excellent. I had the pleasure of taking Marks S&W revolver class last year. Mark is a great guy and great instructor...and a pretty darn good action pistol shooter as well.

I highly recommend any of their classes.

George and his side kick...great guys. I would go by his shop everytime I was at Indy Raceway Park back in the early 90's. I was the East Coast Dunlop motorcycle road race tire distributor.

I was shooting a Springfield World Cup P-9, thanks to Rob Leatham and Tom Reese....thru Rob I met Mr. Enos about the same time frame.

They were both road racing motorcycles back them. Hard to believe how fast 20 years has gone by. Right Brian???

[1911 trigger takeup fixture]

The fixture I am looking for the trigger sits in and you use a punch to place a dimple where the wings are on that trigger. I may just have to make one or talk to the smith and see if he could cnc something.

The fixture you are referring to was made by Jack Weigand. I have used one for many years...it is a trick little tool. It is not listed on Jack's website anymore, you might find one on line somewhere. But, it will probably be simplier & cheaper to purchase one of the newer triggers that have the cut out tab that bends to set the pre-travel as others have mentioned.

[Mag pouch for Springfield XDm .45]

Other than the one that comes with the weapon, what mag pouches fit the Springfield XDm 45 mags. Will the DAA racer or the CR Speed versa-pouch fit the .45 mag?

[CZ TS slide stop broken]

Asimone: This is a fairly common problem with the CZ75/EAA guns. Although I have not shot one in many years....I did shoot my way to Master Class with a Springfield P9 and a lot of help from Rob, Brian and others.

Shooting major loads simply broke the slide stops like you are experiencing. An Indiana company made some tool steel units back in the early 90's. The best thing I would recommend is to have some spares and treat them as a time/round count item. I would put a brand new one in for a couple of practice sessions then set it aside and marked in my range bag to use in the next big match I was going to shoot.

Still the best darn feeling gun in my hand I have ever owned.

[.45 230 fmj loads]

Evidently had my head where the sun don't shine when I stated my load above. Didn't use wsp primers. Federal Large Pistol of course, seated deep. DUH!

Buckaroo45: I use the same load 4.1 gr Clays under Rainier 230 gr plated bullets with your corrected FEDERAL primers in 4" and 5" 625...and seated deep with 7-7.5 DA trigger pull.

I like the soft shooting of the Clays, also use it in 12 ga shotgun and 3.9-4.0 with WSP primers for my 1911 match load.

DQ'ed at the Reno Nationals...1st day, 2nd stage. Plane did not leave until Sunday Morning.

At least I did not waste a bunch of match type ammo!!!

Got a fun Job with Greg (Chronoman) and "Mom" Leatham working the Chronograph stage the rest of the week. Probably the best time I ever had at the Nationals.

Oh, they let me work in the stats room for about an hour!!! Then "assigned" me to Chrono Stage!

Ya know, it's things just like you describe that makes this sport so much fun. Most of us can make mistakes, laugh at ourselves, give our buddies a hard time and still can't wait until the next match.
