  1. I purchased a set of Lee Deluxe Rifle Die set in 223. Can I use this in a Dillon 550b? If so what order do the dies go in the stations? Full length sizer in station one, powder measure station two, then the neck sizer in three and then the bullet seating die in station four? Thank you for your help.

  2. Welcome. Not sure where you are located. If interested there is a meeting this Saturday March 3, 2012 for the NISA USPSA group. The meeting is in Bristol WI at the Home Again Restaurant 4410 200th ave. at 9:00am.

  3. Gentelemen, I have done a search for Accurate No. 2 powder and nothing comes up. Does anyone have any starting loads for Accurate No. 2 with 124 gr. bullets? I have an xdm 9mm with a 4.5 in barrel and want to make minor power factor for production. Thank you in advance.

  4. Fastest for me:

Pop down the white failsafe "washer"

    Remove failsafe rod

    Remove toolhead pins and toolhead

Dump powder, operate powder "crank" to remove any powder in the slide

    Reassemble...

May not be the easiest tho...

That was my technique, when I was done reloading and needed to return the powder to it's airtight keg.

Duh! I had to read this several times. Now I get it. I took the entire measure off of the tool head. Forgot about just removing the pins and dumping. Thanks guys.

  5. Glad you ended up trying the N320. Did you like it?

FYI, I've had great luck with 4.1, but your mileage may vary.

N320 seems to work well. I don't have enough expereince with it yet. I spoke with Powder Valley yesterday about the powder and it sounds like there is an importation problem with the product. They have gotten less than 10% of their ordered product. I will try the 4.1 charge. See you tomorrow?

  6. Today I went to the range and chronod some loads. I used 3.8 gr. of N320 with a Berry's 124gr rn bullet. I got an average of 993.68fps and an average pf of 123.2163 on a 10 shot string. My question; is there a mathematical equation to see if increasing the grains will produce a power factor number? I know I need to do the chrono again to verify the results. If I know mathematically I am close I won't have to load a bunch of unnecessary rounds. Or is anyone using these numbers for a minor pf in USPSA. I am using a 9mm xdm with a 4.5 inch barrel.

  7. Welcome!

I work in Evanston and live in Vernon Hills, so we are practically neighbors :)

Which matches do you go to?

I hope you can make it to some matches yet this fall with us. That is if you can get that EAA to work and get enough mags.

  8. I'm new to the reloading. An can someone explain how to use case lube? My 550 is not as smooth as a friends. His runs like butter.

Get some Dillon Case lube, some sort of a container and your brass. Put the brass in the container and spray the brass lightly. Shake the container a little to get the brass to roll around and spread the lube. Wait five minutes and you are good to go.

  9. This is all good information. I've tried Bullseye and Unique and have found soot on one side of my brass more than another. I'm assuming the crimp or cup is off. I have used Vihtavuori powder 3n37 and like it's results but I never hear of anyone else using it.

I'll keep my eyes open for TiteGroup or WSF and report back my results.

I use Bullseye in my loads, 4.0gr with 124gr Xtreme bullet. I get the same one sided soot on my cases also. They clean up fine but it does look a little odd. Anyone have any ideas?
