  1. I've got the 4.5 and 5.25 in 9mm both good guns and a good amount of aftermarket upgrades available, not as many as glock but its not a glock. Look at Canyon Creek Customs,Springer Precision, Powder River Precision, and Springfield for upgrade stuff.

  2. In my area brass gets picked up as part of stage reset and given back to shooter. I always drop my brass bag near the shooting area when ive walk and checked targets after finishing shooting someone usually hands it to me with brass and magazines inside. Most of the ranges in the area have fairly hard ground or sand with no grass its a trip hazard if brass isn't picked up.

  3. I guess it kinda depends what that gun will be used for, if you are keeping it stock or are you going to make it your own. I usually wont leave it stock and know that when buying, im putting in the trigger I like, front sight I like, magwell and grips I like, mag.release ect. If those Items are not on the gun and will be changed anyway in my mind spend less on the actual gun cost and put that money to the items to make it how I like. That is my perspective. I have a Springfield Loaded 9mm

  4. I just got 6 Dawson 10rd 9mm mags this week have not had a chance to shoot with them yet but they seem nice and I really like the Dawson base pads. I had 10rd mags that I borrowed from a friend until I got mine, one thing I noticed is the Dawson mag do not touch the ejector the ones I borrowed would touch if you pushed up on a seated mag not sure what brand those were but I think the Dawson base pads are what make the difference in not touching.

  5. I think your only option is to get a 1911 .45 shoot major not really that hard to load a 230gn to major. Then get set up for SS, then buy some 10rd. mags. and shoot L10 just use the same gear for both games and have fun. 2011's as already stated is not going to be cheap. I've never shot L10 but I've seen plenty of people shoot a 1911 .45 and have fun. A 1911 in 9mm would be fun as well but you will only be able to shoot minor but in SS it bumps mag rounds up to 10rds.

  6. To the OP question about table start for IDPA, I read it as a SA gun safeties must be on no matter what.

    IDPA

2.8. All CoFs will be started with the pistol holstered, safeties engaged as required by different divisions, and hands clear of equipment including the concealment garment unless other positions for the pistol are stipulated in the CoF description, (table top, drawer, pack, purse, in the firing hand, etc.)

    IDPA

8.2.3.1.6.1. Firearms designed for cocked and locked carry will start cocked and locked (hammer cocked, safety engaged).

  7. The Dawson's stick just below the magwell at the rear and fit in the "box" ive never been to a large match to test, but a guy I shoot with has the same base plates and has been to single stack nationals and passed without an issue. Ive never had stock base plates on my mags with the TGO.

  8. Went and shot local Steel challenge on Saturday 5/5/12. One word to describe my performance "humbling" haven't shot a Steel Challenge since last October, my time was 30 seconds worst than my last match. I like to use steel challenge as a way to practice my draw and accuracy for USPSA. I don't get out to just practice very much if I'm lucky once a month and match's 2-3 a month right now. I think I'm having ammo issues I'm reloading plated and seems to spread out at further distances took some new reloads that are FMJ and used for two stages at the end and seemed to have better results. Need to go out and verify my concern with my reloads . Not going to be able to shoot any match's next weekend due to work hopefully be able to get out to practice before the Rocky Mountain 300 shooting Friday the 18th should be a fun match hopefully the weather holds out.

Need to check reloads before Rocky Mountain 300 match and make changes if needed.
