I too have a Pro 1000. I use it to load 9mm. Like most, I've had all the above issues as well. However I am also having another issue that has not been mentioned yet. I can't get my auto bullet feeder to work right. All the bullets continue to fall out the bottom of it sometime during the run. It appears that the vibrations from working the press and the weight of all the bullets on top of the bottom one, cause them to fall out all over the floor. It happens right after the finger grabs bullet. As the next one drops down into place, they all fall out. (VERY Frustrating) I've tried everything from loading less bullets to going very slow. Nothing works. How do you keep the bullets from falling out of the auto feeder?? Anyone else had this issue?
That has been mentioned in this thread. Go back through the pages. Someone on here made a mod to fix ther issues and a lot of other ppl have liked it.
1) moly coated bullets do not work well with the bullet feeder.
2.) I textured the bullet fingers so it would grab and hold better.
3.) I used my heat gun an slightly. Changed the shape of the finger to allow it to grab better.
4.) I manually worked the bullet feeder....worked well!
5.) I removed the who system and and went back to using my hand and placing bullets on the brass
Make sure your press and table are very sturdy.. No movement at all.

Good to here its working again

I got the press and I'm having trouble with the primer feed.
Most people have problems with bridging not feeding the primers.
My problem is a primer is fed everytime but they are turning sideways or not seating at the station causing binding in the system.
Haven't figured it out yet.
I may just need to adjust the timing on the system.
The timming could really mess up the priming stage which will be an easy fix. it might off been off from the factory. i have loaded at least 3K through mine and just not adjusted the timing.
also make sure you have the right shell carrier part. make sure its not a large pistol primer system and you are loading small pistol primers or vis versa.
never load more than 100 primers in the holder at a time and make sure the primer slot is at least half way up. if it gets any lower you will have primer issues.
make full strokes every time. if you have to stop the process make sure your indexing location is correct.
thats all the advice i have. i love the LEE pro..have 3 for different dedicated calibers. all but one of them runs smoothly. the one i have for my 45acp can be a pain for priming and powder charge. my 40s&w has never had a problem due to the press.
good luck and have fun getting addicted to you press.

Don't need carbide! People thought they needed it so Redding made it but heard their rep at the NRA convention say it is not necessary!
FWIW
Richard
This is an it depends on your reloading method. If you tumble everything with walnut, then corn cob then probably not. If you pick the stuff off the ground and run it through your dies then you probably do. Ask me how I know!
why would you not tumble the brass?
-
Jeff how are you doing the cant? can you post pictures of it up close and how it works?
-
its a no go on shooting at the match or even watching. i think she came up with somethign for me to do just to keep me from being around guns. maybe another time. Thank yall for the invite to the match.

Why not sell him your G35 that u have been trying to get rid of and get a conversion barrel for it.
-
FWIW... And it all depends on your budget I guess ...I bought the Case Master Junior from Magma Engineering ... Works like a hot damn to get that crappy bulge out. I bought it with 9mm, 40 and 45 dies, although I have only actually used the 40 since that is what I shoot the most of. A friend of mine has one as well in 9mm and he gets fantastic results with it also.
For that price it better work
-
i have ad the same results for with the push through die as Chirpy did. as far as seeing the bulge...i only see it in the range brass i find that ppl either were shooting a hotter load or using factor ammo. i havent seen a bulge with my reloaded brass. the day before i decided to reload i will just tumble the brass for about an hour and run about 400 pieces through a push through die and retumble.
if you only pick up your range brass and get you a KKM barrel you shouldnt have a problem with a bulge.

I am getting into reloading and wanted to setup a spot just for that so heres my start.
you'll need some leg supports.
maybe just one support on the far right corner

Nice start!!!!!!

Wish they would get their web site up and running. I had no idea they made 147gr bullets or for that matter what their prices are. Been buying mine from Precision Bullets and at $78 for 1,000 and that includes shipping, pretty good deal.
Donnie sent me this October 17th. just email or call him to verify the prices are still the same.
You can email him your orders or call even though the site is down.

if you have never shot Bayous before then you will fall in love with them.
oh i have not experienced any issues with tons of smoke like "many" say they have.
-
I use the same powder for both just drop the charge
USPSA I shoot an STI 5" .40 and IDPA a Glock 35 I shoot the same OAL for both
Titegroup
180gr
1.115
4.6 for 169pf
3.5 for 140pf
any issues with that OAL with the G35
-
wait, I'm suppose to have different loads?
I just use my major load for both. I'm used to it so why change it?
i take the loss and shoot minor for USPSA since i shoot more steel matches than USPSA. i just did load development for all of my powder and bullets. the Green in the table is where i like to be and Red is a no go either due to PF or trying to drop accurate gn charges with that specific powder.

i have one for clays and bullseye but i have to locate it. saved them to my phone for fast look up and safe keeping and lost a lot of stuff during my last update.
there were 10 shots fired for each string. didnt display duplicate vel.

The flat tapered tip worked better for me than any of the other ones.
-
Decided to give it a shot. Halfway done though.
-
I found it in the clubs website.

D Roc, if you show up to the RBGC shotgun match, you're welcome to use my equipment if you send me a PM and have factory loaded 12 gauge shells.
It's a great match!
How cool is that?
D Roc, you have to decide...
Y'all are great!! Thanks for the offer though. Im going to try and at least watch for an hour. Never done two gun before... Only steel and uspsa so it will be fun to observe.

umm should i be worried about downtown Atlanta? the wedding is at the Atlanta history Center.
No more than any other major city. Act and look like you know what you're about, scan regularly and let folks see you're aware of your surroundings, and don't do dumb things.
lol guess that means not boots or cowboy hat.

Interesting.... Haven't ran across that before. If you happen to find a fix please share. If I have time today when I get off I will put it back on one of my lees to see if I can figure out what is going on. It's been awhile since I used it, and I can't visualize how it operates.
