  1. Ok here is an issue I am having loading 45s the bullet seats crooked. I am using Berrys 185gr hbrn projectiles. My brass before it gets powder is .468 after it gets powder it's .479 the projectile is .595 long. I have to very carefully make sure the projectile is very straight when I set in on the brass before seating, and then sometimes it still goes crooked. This is 100 times more precise than with 38s or 40s or 44. Here is a pic of the dies and the finished product. If I load 100 rounds 10 need to be redone. What are your thoughts?a2eneded.jpg

These are the real bad ones that did not go to the crimp die.

  2. Thank you for your responses I have some research to do now thank you dirty rod for the links. My budget will be in the 5-$800 range and perhaps 1k if I find something I just can't shoot without. Distance shooting for me right now is about 90yds but if I do get into this I am willing to join a shooting club that you have to qualify to shoot but distance out to 1000 yds. Right now I'm just tinkering with the thoughts of trying out a 762x51 rifle I'm saving for and might get it next summer.

  3. I have several rifles but just go to the range and plank around. For the 100 yd I don't really need a scope but over the last week I have noticed my eyes changing. Still 100yd and a decent iron sight, and I'm alright, but I know next to nothing about scopes, for instance should I buy a nice one and is their quick mounts that I can interchange from rifle to rifle with minimum adjustments? Or is it one scope one rifle. I wouldn't even know a nice scope from the pos I have on an ole lever action 30-30. I'm kind of looking for something that has some distance to it. I have been looking to buy a 308 and start to get into some distance shooting. But I would like to see my targets from the bench when I am working up a new load. Cause lets face it walking down range after every ten shots suck.

  4. Hey guys a friend of mine just got a mk model 70 and was a bit concerned about it putting a dent in the side of the brass I don't think it is a big deal but thought it better to ask someone more familiar with 1911. Not sure how big the dent is he is going to mail me some rounds and let me take a look. I will try to post pics if I think it is too extream. Just wondering what might be the cause of the dent.

  5. So I am looking for info on scopes i know very little next to nothing about modern day scopes. Where can I find general info on scopes? I would like to read about them and what I dont understand I can comeback and ask even sillier questions. I'm now a sponge hit me with what you got.

  6. I bought a blue a tear ago because I read so much about their no bs warranty. Being a newbie to this reloading I have had questions they gave me answers. I had one broken part, had new part 3 working days later. So buying my press was one of my better life buys. The best thing about a great warranty is a great product that doesn't need the warranty.

  7. Price was right and once I figure them out I plan on trying to wear them out. I don't decriminate on died. But I heard a great joke today. I never thought about buying a S&W until I held a glock

  8. Thanks for the info. I was trying to work up a new load for 44 mag this past weekend. I had never made 44 before and the powder dispenser is one of the older ones. I was trying to climb .2 increments and my dispenser was varying .6gr either .3 high or .3 low and I finally did it as a single stage and checked each round. But I was running with very small amounts of powder in the hopper. These 44 have kicked my butt. I will be so happy when I can make the switch back to anything other than 44.

  9. Thank you for the responses I will look for another die and do four step on these I never heard of keeping shells in all stations kind of makes since but the single case will only travel so far anyway I just hate messing up 44 mag brass it's too hard to come across.
