  1. there was a specific case in FL at the Open this year, where I was RO. Shooter DQ'ed, but was told to reshoot by RM because the scores were not recorded before anyone came over.

this specific case was me, and I have hte videos.

I was told after i shot the entire stage, and after unload show clear about the DQ.

it was a 180 violation, where it is possible I violated it.

In any case, was the RM then wrong at Florida Open?

Classy response, not what I would have typed. Kudos.

ETA: deleted the rest of my response, as it was rather antagonistic in nature... Going along with this thread though, isn't an RO required to stop a shooter immediately upon deciding that they have done something to earn a DQ?

  2. How do your 15 round mags keep you from inserting the "normal" 17 rounds of 9mm? Is the folower different or do they have an indentation like some other artificially limited mags?

    S&W offers a 15rd 9mm mag specifically for NJ.

ETA: To the OP, you could look at those rubber stick-on pads that attach to the bottom of your baseplate. Might give you enough length to be able to seat the mag.

Won't work. The stock baseplates are too big to fit inside the magwell. Those SSS basepads from the 2nd post are the way I went too.

Ah, well then yea I guess SSS is the way to go then. Nevermind me.

  4. It would be nice if you could put the accuracy data with your load data. Just cause it meets power factor doesn't mean it shoots worth a darn. I alway include accuracy with my data even though sometimes it is with different guns, because I can see a trend.

Sorry, the rounds all went where I pointed them. I am not a bullseye shooter so that's good enough for me.

  5. Shoot the 1911! No sense in buying a new gun before you've even tried the game. Also, ask your friends if they have spare rigs they can lend you to try out different classes before jumping in with both feet.

That was the original plan. Since then I have practiced with the 1911 many times with a buddy who shoots USPSA and I really enjoyed it. I have also been shooting his 2011 from time to time which is SOOO nice. I'm quite jealous of these speed rigs. :(

Shooting the .40 in production puts me in major's doesn't it?

Production is scored like minor, regardless of you hitting major power factor or not. In Limited you have the ability to be scored as major in calibers .40 and up.

  6. I never lube nor sort cases, and experience the same variation. It results in a bit higher standard deviation (40fps or so) but I'm not loading anything super hot, nor am I right at the ragged edge of power factor, so it's inconsequential.

  7. Did some more chrono work yesterday, and wanted to share my results with the class.

Gun is a Sig P226 USPSA(4.4" barrel), weather was approx 60*. Shot strings were 15 rounds.

W-231 powder, MG 115gr jhp bullets, CCI primers.

  8. I just bring new toys into the house when she's not home and stuff em in the safe. Every time she sees something she doesn't recognize she asks "where did that come from?". To which I respond, "this? I've had this for years, you don't remember it?" "No. They all look the same to me I guess." This has worked for the last 3 years, anyway. Not sure how much longer I can keep it up.

  9. Very easy to knock out the rollpins in the slide. Knock out the one holding the extractor, and clean that out too. I went about 5k rounds before I cleaned mine and saw next to know buildup on the firing pin. The extractor, however, was filthy.
