  1. I stay at the same hotel every week Monday through Friday and almost always the same room. This is a quiet suburbian motel with some highway traffic but mostly a working customer, such as electricians and roofers in town for a contract.

Every Monday when I check in, I notice the clock is not how or where I left it the previous Friday. Usually it is something very noticable such as unplugged or on the floor but frequently, the alarm will be set to something weird like 5:05pm and the alarm will be going off.

Of course this also happens with the coffee maker. I have found it under the bed twice in the past few months.

I am pretty sure it is the maid service being weird.

  2. 700x is all I can find locally. Not a bad price from several different suppliers. I am going to pick up 8lbs. Monday or Tuesday. I can't find Federal primers anywhere. I am down to 3k for Large pistol, and 5 k for small pistol. Having to pay $40+ for 1k here.

I lucked into a couple 1# cans of Clays last weekend but paid $28/per. Any pistol powder has been an infrequent find but I see rifle powder more frequently recently than it has been. Primers are running $38 - $40/1k here also but seem to be more readily available than they were just weeks ago.

  3. Shot poorly at a local match at a range tonight and to make myself feel better I went out to their shop and wandered around looking for something I could not do without. I noticed they had quite a selection of primers on their shelfs and while I have scrounged some primers, I have had a tough time finding pisol powder. I off-hand asked if they had anything in pisol powder as none was apparent. The owner asked me what I was looking for and I told him, almost anything that will fit in a 40 or 45. As you guys know, powder is hard enough to find, I am willing to try anything that will fit in a case. He indicated he had some that had just came in and asked me what I wanted again. I told him that I would take anything from Bullseye on up. He snickered and sent his help downstairs to bring up a brand new case of Clay's 1# jugs.

I am still emotionally dancing a jig, hell, I can shoot another match next week but finding powder.. WOOOT!!

  4. Member since 04/11, first match and every match for the first few years was with a Kimber CDP Pro. Just picked up a G35 to put a change in my game. I have changed holsters, mag pouches and played with the ballistics of my reloading more than anything and have a stack of holsters I have used but I always seem to come back to my carry rig, a Don Hume OWB.

  5. When told to be quiet - Oh hell no.

If I believe I understand the requirements, and what is being delivered does not meet those requirements, either explain to me what I am misunderstanding or I am going to push until ether someone reacts, the requirements change or explains to me what I am missing.

I have faced similar issues several times and the few times I remember not pursuing the issue, it has in some manner come back to bite ME.

  6. Did some air soft training in the basement and sharped my ice tools, oh ya and froze the high yesterday was -7 and its even colder today! Have fun in your sun!

Difficult to beat Billings for cold

I had a friend ask me to move to North Dakota earlier this year for a job. I was just thinking of him freezing his x^$&$^ off up there. I should probably call to see if he's stuck to a flagpole somewhere.

  7. without a doubt, a full-sized 1911 is a common carry gun. Not the MOST common by any means, but not at all unusual.

However, carrying one in a skeleltonized Drop-offset race holster is pretty uncommon for concealed carry, and so are adjustable wheel mag pouches. I love those mag pouches and I have some on my production rig, but i wouldn't carry them for everyday use (of course I wouldn't carry ANY extra magazines for everyday use).

To me, the idpa restrictions on equipment make a fair amount of sense, it's the other pretend-tacticool rules that drove me away.

I believe this hits the nail dead center. I am not the most experienced of shooters so take this with all the salt required, I believe they are attempting to keep IDPA from turning into an equipment race.
