  1. OK I'm an idiot. But just exactly what is the purpose of greasing the underside of the Station 1 locator? Especially "heavily greasing" it?

My press (650XL) is fairly new, only loaded a few thousand rounds. But Dillon had that cavity absolutely packed! The station one locator doesn't move? What am I missing here?

I'd like to know the answer to this too please.

  2. Phone or e-mail us, and please include your address-we'll mail an alignment tool and instructions. Be aware this adjustment is only for aligning the shellplate over the primer. It has nothing to do with the snapping. That is usually from running the shellplate bolt too loose. How old is your 650?

I bought my xl650 in December last year. Thanks i'll give you guys a call next week. Much appreciated!!!

  3. How do I adjust the indexing pawl/cam/whatever it's called...the thing on the left side of the press with 2 screws in it. I've read several threads saying to adjust this so the shell plate is nicely moved into place, not snapped in by the ball. I tried to adjust this but there is BARELY any movement at all backwards and forwards, like nothing pretty much. I need to move it forward to help the shell plate rotate more. I already did the bearing mod and clipped the spring, but it still snaps into place.

  4. OK so here's my situation with my xl650 I got in December. It works great except when I use AA#9 for when I load 30carbine.. That powder is so fine (like dust) it tends to gall-up the powder measure a little. It gets stuck in between the pistol bar and the spacer plate, around there, just a few grains. This added friction makes it a little harder to slide the pistol bar back and forth. I've switched to different pistol bars and plates I have, no difference, it's just too fine of powder. I've adjusted the wingnut on the rod to make it work, but it would work a lot better if there was a spring to assist the pull-back.

I know Dillon powder measures used to have this spring until the rod was added. Are the springs still for sale? I just need 1. Or does anyone have a part number for a spring that will work good in place of the original Dillon ones?

    Thanks
