I called Blackwater - now Academi - and was transferred to a number that let me leave a message, but never called me back.
I understand they don't have a range for civilian use.
There is a range listed in NSSF in Moyock, but it doesn't really exist.
C-2 over in Pungo is the best bet locally, but expensive and no bays to practice movement. A range near Hertford is available, but has a waiting list.
May be something in the Raleigh area.
In the Triangle area we've got a BUNCH of everything.
Closer to you, there's Pitt County Wildlife Club who does USPSA and the occasional 3-gun match I believe.
I think there's a USPSA match in Havelock too.
I've got all the triangle stuff on my calendar at http://triangletactical.net/calendar and then there's the NC Section website at http://www.ncsection.org which has all the USPSA matches in the state.

Any ranges, clubs, matches in the Eastern part of the state?
I live just south of the NC/Va line in Moyock and having trouble finding an IPSC/3G/PRS range
There was talk of a club starting in Moyock at Blackwater, (guy was in my Level1 RO class about a 1.5yrs ago that was gonna be part of it) but that was the last I heard anything about it.

You guys hit a home run (again) with this one. Lots of topics from breaking stages down to how shooting ebbs and flows in your life. Very quick hour - hope you guys connect with Chris again.
Thanks, it was fun. I really enjoy the interviews, wish more folks would come through the area more often. They always come out better when we're all in the same room instead of recording a Skype call or something.

Thanks for sharing! We had a lot of fun recording this. The whole "Shooting is so unnatural, if you start doing what’s comfortable, you’re going to create a lot of bad habits” thing blew my mind.

Check out www.triangletactical.net. They have a shooting sports calendar on their site with all the area matches. We're lucky to have lots of matches in the area of many diciplines(USPSA, IDPA, 3-Gun, etc...)
Thanks Eric.
Yeah, the Triangle area is the Mecca for competitive shooting in the state. Tons of matches every weekend, USPSA, IDPA, 3-gun, etc.

Can you link it?Someone posted what is supposed to be a G43 picture on GT and other forums.
keep you burgerhook off the bang switch until your peepers are on the hamburgler .......
I dug into this too, here you go:http://www.triangletactical.net/2015/03/12/photo-forensics-the-glocks-first-ever-single-stack-9mm-ad/

Nah, just cut my dryfire session a little short. Did all the Photoshop work wearing my production rig then went right back to the garage and got to work.

Hey ya'll, I just dissected the new Glock ad with the picture of the slide profile. Check it out here: http://www.triangletactical.net/2015/03/11/photo-forensics-new-glock-ad-with-slide-profile/

Steve Anderson and Ben Stoeger are great competition podcasts. The Power Factor show I like on youtube https://www.youtube.com/user/powerfactorshow
I've shot with the Triangle Tactical dudes and they are great promoters of competition and carry. Good motivation to go shooting. http://www.triangletactical.net/2014/10/27/new-ccw-guns-105/
Then there's always Hickock45 and Gun Blast for guntainment.

Thanks man. Latest episode is an interview with Steve Anderson, and only a little van halen... www.triangletactical.net/107

I'd recommend showing up to a match, and find someone who looks like they know what they are doing, and get some help from them.
IDPA is pretty straight forward, just show up and give it a go!

If you are handy, you can make some from Kydex.
(Mods, I hope it's OK to post a link to my site, if not, I understand)
http://www.triangletactical.net/2013/01/24/diy-shotgun-shell-caddies/
If you have a dremel, heat gun, and some other tools, its worth it, if not, you may be better off buying some. Doesn't Choate have some really inexpensive shell caddies out there now too?

Wilmington, NC. Quite a few matches, of an assorted variety around there. (But, I'm from TX, so my definition of stupid hot could be different.)
+1 for eastern NC. Several matches of different disciplines within an hour of downtown Raleigh every weekend.

I have a 24 as well. Shoots like a laser beam. Stupid accurate! Soft shooting, and a lot of fun. I shoot a lot of "action pistol" matches with no rules for division, etc, and I like it a lot.
Added a lw 40-9 barrel, and a 13lb spring and she eats 9mm quite reliably as well.
As stated above, it could use a lighter slide, been looking into that.

Has anybody here had any slide milling done by Glockworx? The pictures on their site look fantastic, was curious about the actual quality of work, turnaround time, etc.
I have a Glock 24 that I love, but I would like to lighten the slide a little in an attempt to speed it up a bit.

Has anybody tried an 8 shotshell carrier?
I've done a few 6 shell carriers, let me see if I can find a picture.
-
the ones benny had at the pro-am were smoothed over really nice and had a good contour to them. Maybe he can post a pic?
I found a pic earlier in this thread. I'll be busting out the sandpaper tomorrow afternoon.

Does anybody have a good picture of how you radiused the forearm? I just finished hogging out the loading port, and I need to cut back the forearm a little, but I need ideas.

If you can't weld because you don't have the equipment, you can buy one instead.
Are you referring to the 930? I'd love to buy a litter already welded up.
-
930's don't need to be welded up
I didn't have a problem going slow, but at the range this afternoon trying to go fast, I got stuck, and it sucked.
-
I got my thumb caught in my 930 this afternoon. Just about lost my thumb nail.
-
I actually really like the new finish, its got a little more texture to it, making it easier to manipulate the slide. The slides are still tennifer treated.
-
Every Glock I own does that.
