  1. Zfields,

Have you thought about trying to accomplish this seemingly impossible charging handle job via Kickstarter? I bet that if you just wrote up a brief synopsis of what you are trying to do, include the photo of charging handle, posted a link here, on AR15.com, on shotgunner.com (or whatever shotgun pages there are) you might get 50 or 60 people wanting these things. I bet there are more than a few guys in the competitive shotgun realm using a 712 that would really like a better charging handle than the dinky POS it comes with. I don't think you would even need to do the video...but those are cool and they let your "investor" know who they are dealing with.

You find a machinist that will make a minimum of 50, find out how much he'd charge plus how much for each additional over 50, then set your Kickstarter fundraiser goal for the minimum fee the machinist wants, shipping, and the profit you want. All of us make a kickstarter donation and if you don't raise the money by a certain time, then I think everyone gets their money back and we're all back looking for bolt handles praying that maybe Nordic will make another run. If you do raise the funds, as soon as the machinist makes them, you send them to us and we can do the same thing for a barrel clamp that fits because that Nordic clamp didn't fit on mine. It squeezed the barrel and the mag tube together totally screwing up my POI. I thought I was going to permanently damage my Nordic mag tube extension.

Too bad you couldn't get an email or snail mail list of 712 purchasers. I bet 90% of 712 owners would buy one and I'll be that CZ has sold at least 500 of them.....but then that gets into gun registration and the govmint and all that crap. lol.

  2. The pistol is a -97B (because .45), and actually belongs to Mr. Coleburn.

I don't know if the maroon would go as well with the wood grips. I like the dark look with the black furniture.

Now, if CZ decided to market a semi version of their new assault rifle in the States, I could get one of those and an SP-01 and run an all Czech battery...

Almost all Czech. The shotgun is Turkish. Gobble gobble.

  3. The stock model appears to be some sort of chromium steel. I don't think it is chrome plated? Anyone have any plating wear off of theirs? It may even be heat treated. Maybe call CZ and find out if they know? You'd have to talk to whoever does QC in the Turkish factory.

  4. By doing that, I'd assume the nordic bolt is steel. Correct? I could find someone to do that pretty easily, but would rather have what is correct so I can keep my original.

I figured the nordic handles would be aluminum (screwed on to a metal piece that goes into the bolt) so they'd be lighter and not affect the momentum on the bolt.

  5. Guys I talked to Nordic today. They have an order in with the production side of Nordic for the CZ bolt handles. Not sure when they will be avaiable. I shot the AM side of Rockcastle with my CZ. All I can say is that I wish I shot as well as my shotgun.

    Yay!!

  6. It would be nice to get nordic to make another run of the bolt handles. Could we start a pool or something to get a big order together?

I don't think any of the shotguns out there were designed to be run like machine guns. LOL I've been pleased with mine and I'm really bummed that my local club stopped hosting 3 gun and shotgun matches....and that I missed their last non-pistol match which was a shotgun only match. I really love shooting it. I used to dread shotgunning until I got the CZ.

  7. I'm tempted to buy one of the long barreled CZ's or Huglu's and get the barrel chopped to 22 or 24 depending on where the rib is. There's a guy that's been mentioned on the Mossburg 930 thread that chops and threads them for something like $60. He discretely offers his services on the shotgunner forum. Maybe if I have some cash left after my summer travels I'll do that and turn the wood stocked gun into a short barreled HD/RV gun.

  8. Shot another 50 this afternoon and had several double feeds. I was shooting poppers in a row and working on speed so may have well been pulling the trigger before it had got back in battery. Anyone had this malfunction in a 712 and do you think I have the right diagnosis? Have the plug out but no extension yet. Seemed to no double feed when I slowed down a bit. Thanks.

That doesn't sound good. When I first got mine, I loaded 8+1 and pulled the trigger as fast as I could. I did it with several types of ammo. Not much left of the IPSC target I was aiming at, but no double feeds. That's why I get frustrated when I have a hiccup at a match because it's never done it to me in practice/testing. I've done it a couple times since and no problems. Others at the range are always impressed.

  9. I've reduced my shooting to just my local 3 gun bimonthly matches. <_< So I my experiences with my cz are becoming more limited.....not a big deal as I've had many other hobbies and I'm just trying to find a balance with time and $$$.

I shot Saturday and lent my gun to a friend on our last stage. He shot it great and sho nuff...it hiccuped on me. FTE. Which is a first on this gun in the 10 matches I've used it.

I shortened my recoil spring and couldn't tell a difference with my cheap game loads, but haven't tried anything lighter.

I'll be eyeballing this forum for the release of the Nordic bolt handle. That would have been nice last weekend in the cold.
