Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I'll be there. Bringing two first timers with me. Can't wait!
  2. Yep. We didn't get a choice either. It had to be the old one. Super stiff cocking. HA - never had to type that sentence before! They had to go repair it half way through our squad. Two guys got to reshoot it was messing up so bad. My technique was decent, but my strategy was poor. DC
  3. Imagine being in a track meet and someone being three times faster than you in two of five events! HA There is a wide canyon between the top 3-5 and the rest of the field. I can see a top 10 some day, but Respect goes to those way up there. Nice shootin. DC I had the same thought. I know of a few mental mistakes I made, a few errors, but in general I was moving pretty fast. So when I looked at the scores and saw that people were more than twice as fast as me it made me think 'What would it take to get to that level'? The honest answer is more time, money, and commitment than I will every be willing/able to put out. Oh well. I still had a good time. jrmock I hear you. The willing is OK but the able is trouble. Pretty expensive hobby. DC

  5. Yep. Now I can closely examine the details of how far away from first place I really was.
  6. They had a score sheet. I wish I woudl have snapped a picture and posted it. Yep. They passed it around. I thought it would be available a few days later, so I didn't run out the door with it! I can't complain, since I haven't called them to get it posted, but....uuhhhh...
  7. Cheers Bro! The Spring match isn't good for my work schedule but we will see how it pans out. We'd love to have you guys join us for some of our clubs 3 gun matches here in OKC. It's only a 3 hour drive. Here is the link to our clubs web site. OKC Gun Club Website I will start posting the match dates on dfwshooters.org forum and on this forum as well. Here are some videos of the past matches we shot. OKC Gun Club 3 Gun May 2010 OKC Gun Club 3 Gun January 2010 OKC Gun Club 3 Gun October 2009 Pretty good matches with lots of shooting and we have a 300 yard long range bay now. For $20 the are tough to beat and a great place to test your gear because we shoot a lot of rounds in our 5-6 stages. We have also been doing some 150+ round action rifle matches lately too. Lots of fun! OKC Gun Club Action Rifle Match +1 on the OKC matches. I have shot with up there a couple times and it is well worth the trip from N. Texas! Sounds great to me. I grew up in Oklahoma and travel there regularly. I will try to make contact if I go up there for a match. Thanks a bunch. DC
  8. 2010 Fall Tac Pro 3 Gun TACTICAL Match Great video. I look forward to shooting with you sometime (maybe next spring). In the words of the Stage 2 RO (at 0:42sec on your video) "Oh crap.....He's fast"!!! That is priceless! You need to make that a ring tone or something. Best wishes. DC
  9. This was the best match I have ever shot! Well, it was my first match so I have no personal reference point, but I understand the issues pointed out. On a personal level, the things people didn't like, probably leveled the field a little for guys like me. One thing is for sure, you sure had plenty of time to get to know the people in your squad. What I had heard is true, the people are great. It is funny that my buddy and I won all the 223 ammo, and both of us had to borrow an AR because neither of us have one. What we have now is a great reason to get'r done. Hope to shoot again next spring!
  10. The regional favorite is Hard 8 (BBQ). Then FiddleCreek (steak). Then the usual string of chain stuff and mexican. There is a pretty cool place on SH 108 between Tac-Pro and S'ville called Oakdale Steakhouse. Kind of a one-off, local, old-time deal - I like it. You can't go wrong with any of these. DC
  11. Man that is cool. Miculek is bad. If you are an amateur, I'm no longer sure what to call myself. I know nothing about match shooting now, but saturday night I will know what I need to know. I am average on pistol, below average on rifle, but my left hand is surgically attached to a Remington 870. I am jacked about it though, and I have two buddies shooting it with me. If you are an OSU fan, we may be separated brothers. DC
  12. Awesome forums. I will be shooting in this match saturday. I was glad to find some info on it - hard to find anywhere else. Hope to meet some cool shooters. "Jesse Tischauser on YouTube" - sweet. Did any of your FNH Midwest footage make the show?
