I don't know... I suspect that an FTDR hurts a bit more than the piece of 80 match points you didn't get due to procedurals...

I was just figuring that I'd rather have 20 seconds added to a stage so I could get at least a few points. If you have 80 points in procedurals you gots zippo for the stage.

Who has videos???????

Looks like a way to impose FTDR. (Did I just say that)
HAHAHAHA! Thanks - now I've got beer all over my monitor! Of course it looks like several folks would rather have a FTDR than the penalties they ended up with.

We will loose a major sponsor. We will also loose some free RO hotel rooms due to less people booking rooms. We will also make less money on the food concessions. Since it is a cash payback match all these added expenses will reduce the cash payback. But for 100.00 what can you expect? The big prize matches are getting 150.00-275.00 a head. I guess if everybody saves 75.00 for a room and meal then they are that much ahead of the game.
Chuck,
What kind of dipstick sponsor is this? If I'm at any match of any length I visit the sponsors. If they have something I want, I buy it. Do they seriously think that if I'm there two half days instead of one full day I'll be any more inclined to make a purchase? If it's a two day match I can guarantee that I won't buy anything because I'll be some 400 miles away. And it's not just me that won't be there - there's three other guys that won't be coming with me. You'll definitely make more on food concessions with a one day format. If I'm shooting PM, I'm eating before the match. If I'm shooting AM I'm eating after the match. The only way I'm eating at the range is if I'm trapped there all day. I don't know if there would be more rooms booked with a two day match or not. I do know that there would be two less rooms on Saturday night if it is a two day match.

Thanks Kath. Not the answer I wanted, but at least I know. I agree with Cameron. The problem for me is taking off Friday to travel down. Probably won't be able to swing it.

And AREA 5 is????

My question above is about the Area 5 match. I think we're talking about two different matches in this thread. Maybe my question isn't clear. If you plan to shoot on the weekend, what's the format - one day or two day?

I'm confused. I'm looking at the match application and I see that you can choose to shoot Thursday with staff, Friday, (clear so far) or Sat AM / Sun AM, or Sat PM / Sun PM. My reading of this is that if you want to shot on the weekend you have to shoot both days. I would imagine that I am wrong since last year the match was run so well that we were done in half a day, but the application does not indicate to circle your prefered time to shoot. Can someone clarify what the schedule is?

I fly, but I hate it. I know at least 2 dozen friends that have been in car accidents and are with us today. I know 1 friend that was in a plane accident. RIP, Timo. Logic has nothing to do with it. I KNOW that flying is safer than driving. I also know that take offs are easier than landings, but my butt eats up the seat cover on every take off. Timo was killed in the Oct 2001 AA plane crash on Long Island. Five months before we were talking about how he flew to and from the Dominican Republic every week. He didn't like flying, but did not want to be away from his family, so when he agreed to run a factory down there he had it written into his contract that he would be home on the weekends. He was a metallurgist and we talked about metal aging and stress and all the things that could happen. It's ironic that as near as they can figure, the part that failed in the suspected wake turbulence was not metal but carbon fiber. I'm flying next Saturday and my palms are sweaty just thinking about it.

No matter how you score it - he's the stage winner!

I don't know him, but I've seen him and his wife at several matches. He's a B class shooter.

In theory, it's the fourth Saturday. March was cancelled due to a storm, April was cancelled .... I don't remember, May was cancelled due the Bianchi Cup. June's match, I believe, will be on the 26th starting at 10:00. Email Emanuel at:
eb@protechco.com and ask him to put you on the mailing list so you'll know the details in advance.
