I've been casting the lee 175s with the six cavity mold for a Glock 22 with a kkm barrel and a Caspian 1911 and they shoot awesome. I just recently started using the hi tek lube and really like that stuff.

Thanks guys for all the info on this. This has had me scraching my head. One quick call to Mr. LaFrain at Black Bullets and I've got a plan. Get a Manson throat reamer and the .400 bullet sizing die.

The coating that I'm using on the bullet is serving the purpose of the marker (for the bullet) and the only visible point of contact is completely around the remaining .401 diameter sticking out of the case. Theres an even line all the way around. I did try to seat the bullets deeper to the point where there was none of the larger diameter sticking out of the case. This solved that problem but then the rounds were too short to feed reliably. OAL on the shorter round was about 1.115.

Ok, so I'm casting my own bullets out of wheel weight and using the Lee 6 cavity 175 grain TC. I coat my bullets with the Hi Tek lube from Bayou Bullets. Uncoated bullets with the traditional lube in the lube groove ran fine. The coated bullets ran fine for a couple thousand rounds, but now they won't chamber. Everything is sized after lubing/coating to .401. I'm trying to use these in both my KKM barrel in my Glock and my Kart barrel in my Caspian. The loaded rounds (1.135 oal) won't chamber in either gun. I inspected both barrels for leading in the throat area, causing the round to not chamber. No visible leading was found, but I read on the castboolits forums that some copper chore boy scrub pad on an old bore brush would work wonders. I made the brush up to be tight and proceded to scrub the snot out of both barrels. No luck. I slugged both barrels and the groove diameter comes out at .400 on both. Jacketed bullets run great but I can't afford to practice in volume with jacketed bullets. 50 bucks for 110 lbs of wheel weight makes alot of good bullets, so I need to figure out how to get them to run. Any ideas?

I'm running a KKM barrel in my G22 and see no signs of bulging. As a side note, I'm using all Dillon dies and get some bulged brass from time to time and they remove the bulge 99% of the time. I'll case gauge my rounds and only 1 or 2 out of 400-500 rounds won't fit.

I shot 61% on a classifier last month and it didnt get sent in. That woulda been my 3rd one over 60%. That sucks.

Loaded up some 155 grain round nose over 5.2 grains of N320 at 1.135. I'm shooting a Glock 22 with a KKM barrel. They shot great, real accurate. A tad more snappy than 180 grain loads but, still not too bad. I did have some leading, so I maybe bump the charge up a tenth or maybe two to get the bullet to seal better and see if that helps. You can call hodgdon and get load data from one of the techs that work there for a load using your titegroup.

I'm in the same boat - right handed and left eye dominant. I started out shooting with one eye closed and that was just too dang slow to me so I wanted to learn to shoot with both eyes open. Thats when I learned that I was cross dominant. What I do is draw the gun and just present it in front of my left eye. Its awkward at first but to me, it was well worth it. As far as dropping your left elbow, if its actually a problem, you can always consciously work on your stance and form in dry fire and build that muscle memory. I'm pretty sure Benos said that a good technique will evolve over time.

N320 is a faster burning powder, with a burn rate slightly slower than titegroup and solo 1000. While it is slower burning than titegroup, I can't tell a difference between the 2. I loaded some precision 180s with 320 a while back and really love that round. Soft shooting and plenty accurate.

The extra weight shouldn't have much impact on the PF. It'll probably go up a few points. As for the PF with my loads, I'm not sure. I came up with this load from some data from hodgdon and lyman. I haven't been able to chrono them but, according to what I've read, they should be making major.

I'm shooting a Glock 22 with a KKM barrel and one of my favorite loads for major is a 175 grain bullet that I cast myself from wheel weight and 4.1 - 4.2 grains of titegroup. People say that titegroup has a tendency to smoke alot but, I've used it with cast lead and moly coated bullets with very little smoke at all. Thats just my experience with it, your results my vary.

I loaded up the first batch of zero 165's with 5.0 of N320 at 1.135. Recoil was a touch more snappy when compared side by side to my cast lead 180's with 4.1 of N320. The accuracy, in my opinion, could have been better, so I loaded up another batch with 5.0 of titegroup. Recoil impulse was the same as the N320 loads but the accuracy was better. All in all, I like the 165's but I do prefer the 180 grainers and specifically, my own cast lead boolits. The accuracy and recoil from those is by far the best that I've used.

I've got 1k of zero 165's on the way but they weren't in stock at the time so I'm playing the waiting game. I've also just got my brand new 550 set up to rock and roll. I'll probably load up from my stock of 180's, just to keep it warm while I wait.

I know the trend to making major power factor is using heavier bullets with fast powders. I have used a wide variety of 180 grain bullets with powders such as titegroup, vv320 and solo 1000. Well, recently, I shot some factory loaded 165's and I really liked the recoil impulse from that load. What I want to know is if there is anybody out there that uses or has used the mentioned powders to make major with a jacketed 165? I shoot a Glock 22 with a kkm barrel so I load at 1.135. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I shoot limited major with a Glock 22 and a KKM precision barrel to allow use of lead bullets. That KKM barrel really loves a lead bullet too. My favorite loads are 3.9 of titegroup and 4.1 of VV 320 loaded at 1.135 with a 180 grain lead bullet. Either one shoots great but titegroup is a little more smokey. I've loaded some of those same lead 180's with 5.8 grains of power pistol and that is NOT a low recoil round. I've also loaded some 40 minor with clays and 180 grain bullets and that is fun round to shoot.

I'm shooting limited with a standard Glock 22 but, I'm wanting to build a G24 top end for it. Would I benefit from the longer barrel and slide or would the money be better spent another way? Also, I looked through the rule book and it didn't specify whether or not the mod would be legal. Would it be legal for limited?

Got some nice looking guns here people. The set up you have there M109R, is similar to what I'm thinking about. I've been looking at that Jager kit for a G17. I actually may be leaning more towards a limited setup instead of the open. I'm looking at the G24 slide and barrel from lone wolf dis. to put on my G22 frame. Only thing is, I'm not sure that would be legal for limited div. since the gun didn't come factory that way. I looked over the rule book and it doesn't specifically say that you can't change the slide, so that leads me to believe that I can. Anyway, thanks for the input and keep it coming.

Alright, I realize there are several threads on open glocks but I was looking for some answers for some particular questions. Is anyone using a trijicon RMR style, slide mounted sight? If so, how do they hold up in the long run, being slide mounted? And I have noticed that people are shooting a 9mm for open. Is it easier to make major with a 9 than a 40 for use in open division? I'm wanting to build an open glock, just for fun, and was wondering which caliber and components were recommended.

Great info here folks, thanks for all the help. What are your thoughts on using 180 gr. bullets and titegroup to shoot limited major with a glock 22? Also, has anyone used titegroup with 135 gr. nosler hollow points? If so, good results? Thanks again.

Well, I'm shooting a Glock 22 40 with the factory barrel. I had loaded some 135 gr. hp's with power pistol but I saw on another post that a popular glock 40 recipe uses 180 gr. bullets with titegroup powder, some I'm gonna give that a whirl next.

Alright, from what I've been reading, you get less felt recoil from a slower powder compared to a faster burning powder. Why is that?

Its a kart. I'm not sure which ramp cut though. It feeds great with those seated to 1.185, in just past the lube groove.
