Out of respect and for the record here, that someone was John Kozoil of the town of Greece, New York.

is not the case for the Shadow 2 Orange. SKU 91249 and similar.
Thanks in advance.

Happy 2022,
Picked up a used OZ9 for $1k at LGS thinking "hey that's an $1,900 MSRP kit" (it came with the Comp V2) then I found this thread.
Opened it up to see the copper goop fully intact, and some carbon to clean up.
Looking forward to see if I have a unit that fires two rounds at once, snaps firing pins, breaks barrel lugs, breaks slide releases, FTEs, or shoot flawlessly.

@Joe4d, I would point you to the report linked to this blog post for a different opinion for you to consider. Results of a 4 Year Handgun Red Dot Study

I get the question, but somehow it makes no difference. My Glock 19 with Trijicon RMR mounted carries no different then with iron sights. The 1"extra height is unnoticeable either at 11:00 or 3:00 to 4:00 body holster position. Strange, but I love it.
My Mat Del Fatti collection has been my biggest issue with slide mounted optics. Other than that zero downsides.
As an aside, it's almost unfathomable how much a better self defense shooter I am with the slide mounted red dot optic. I pretty much sucked with irons at questionable defensible self defense shooting distances, but no more. Granted I still can't hang with the competitors here, but for [insert self defense scenario here] I am way more confident in placement and safety.
