  1. I tried all of the fixes mentioned here and never could get my 9mm major open gun to run reliably, after sitting down and having a conversion with Nils I put and RTS2 on my gun and it has run 100% ever since. I know Nils is only the world champion in standard division but he knows a little bit about open guns too.

  2. it appears to be a standard model that has been converted with a mag well and squared up trigger guard with a extra barrel and comp. the only question is is it a large ore small frame gun. the best way to tell that is to measure the magazines Large Frame Mags measure: 1.345" x 0.850". Small frame magazine: 1.250" x 0.800".

the best place to get parts is www.henningshootsguns.com he is a great guy and the worlds best parts store for Tanfoglios.

as for parts basically everything is interchangeable and Hennings store will point out any parts that will only fit a certain frame size.

also for the comp barrel you can either run a longer recoil guide rod or use red locktite on the comp and the standard guide rod it will just be harder to change barrels

    PS cool gun

Thanks! it says model 9 on the side and it must be a small frame since my witness match's magazines won't fit in it, now I just need to find a longer guide rod that will work, is the small frame closer to the size of the CZ if so with cz grips work? I am on a tight budget but would like to get it cleaned up and working nice for my son.

  3. Hi all I am new here but I need some help, I picked up this gun inexpensively with hopes of making it a project gun for my son and I, and for him to use for shooting Tuesday night steel here in Arizona. I know it is a Tanfoglio as I have a witness match but I am not sure what model it is so I can get some parts for it, mainly I think I need a longer guide rod so I can install the compensated barrel and a hammer as it looks like someone removed the spur off of this one. Any help would be much appreciated.
