  1. I had surgery 5 years ago for ruptured discs in my back for that same reason. At times the pain was intolerable and would literally bring tears to my eyes, especially when going fron sitting to standing. Before the surgery I tried the chiropractor and physical therapy all to no avail. It would stop the pain momentarily, but it would soon return. Definately get an MRI to check for ruptured discs.

  2. Actually, there is a little difference. The front sight on the ones I have seen is held in by a screw, not the pin wedge.

+1, this is true as I just found out when installing my Dawson sights on my G17.

  3. Sorry to hear about all the trouble. I was not having problems before with mine, except for when my wife and daughter shot it. They had stovepiping problems which I think was from limpwristing, but I never had any when I would shoot it. I have been using 115gr. UMC stuff the whole time. I do think that the factory spring is too tight. I was neer a big fan of Glock before this pistol, but the current setup I have now with a Vanek Trigger, the Jager guiderod with the 13lb. spring and lonewolf barrell has turned this into one of my favorite guns.

  4. Searched around and didn't see anything about companies offering a reduced weight recoil spring.

Any one heard of one on the horizon or is it out there already and I'm just crappy and finding stuff?

The reason I ask is i'm running an 11 lb in my production gen 3 with 130PF loads. From what I'm reading the gen 4's may have issues with soft loads.

    Thanks,

    Harold

I just replaced my factory Gen4 guiderod with Jagers and the 13# ISMI spring. It worked great shooting the 115gr UMC stuff.

  5. I have been shooting my Gen 4 G17 with 115gr and no issues, however, when I let my wife and daughter shoot it they had FTE problems (stovepiping) which I contributed to them limp wristing the pistol. I too feel that the factory recoil spring has too much weight. Does anyone know exactly what the weight of the factory springs are?

Another concern of mine is that I recently installed a compensator but have yet to try it out. I am hoping that I won't have issues because of it. I was considering a replacement guiderod/spring from Jager. Should I go with the 13 or the 15 pound assembly?

  6. Hello everyone. I stumbled on these forums and was amazed at the information available on here so I had to join. I have been shooting most of my life since I was a kid, and I recently took the plunge and joined the USPSA. I haven't competed yet, but I am looking forward to my first time at a match. I figure I can use all of the help that I can get so here I am.
