  1. I have a EAA Witness Elite Match in 10mm. I have been searching for a OWB belt or paddle holster for it with little success. I could use some suggestions, recommendations or links to holsters that will fit the Elite Match.

    Thanks

    Steve

I have just received my PROTOTYPE EAA Witness Hunter Holster (My design) (Fabricated by FIST, INC.)

  2. did you have any problems with the RHT mount screws sticking in too far. Mine appears to be contacting the front bottom part of the slide. Ie: I guess I need to shorten the screws,.cut the inside of the slide for clearance,..or get shorter screws....?

I USED TO THINK THAT PUTTING A SCREW INTO A HOLE WAS SIMPLE

NOT TRUE  and I HAD ONLY 4 TO PUT INTO PLACE....

THIS PROCESS CAN RUIN A GUN, IF NOT DONE PROPERLY

1st> The thread size; count; depth may or may not match the pistol tap...

(It would be nice to be able to assume the supplier would provide a screw that would in fact fit) :goof:

2nd> Forcing any of the 4 mis-aligned screws home can warp the bridge...and leave a gap between the bridge and pistol  (ALL 4 need to be torqued down evenly)

3rd> Forcing the screw (because you think its a tight fit) can cross thread mis-matched international sizing... :goof:

IF THE SCREW AND PISTOL TAP are a match THEN proceed to align ALL 4 screws TO THE SAME DEPTH before tightening down the bridge...

LENGTH: My RHT screws were maybe 1/32 too short, and I advised RHT Engineers of that fact. I then used my STS C-More screws which matched the tap.. :roflol:

my RHT screws are 1/32 too long for the mount to frame,....won't allow slide to cycle. I am going to trim them with a dremel

LENGTH: My RHT screws were maybe 1/32 too short, and I advised RHT Engineers of that fact. I then used my STS C-More screws which matched the EAA tap BETTER

  4. How to get a holster for my 6" Witness Hunter w/STS

    I asked fist98@aol.com if I could provide a pistol mold and holster prototype...They agreed..

WOOD PISTOL BLANK: Process, shaped a 1" plank to profile; Then laminated a 1/4" panel to make thickness; Then laminated panel to duplicate Scope Bridge... Lots of wood working, but fun to do.. ;)

HOLSTER MOCK UP: NO, I am not going postal, But the old postal cardboard was easy to shape with a hot glue gun...

Finally with a few more USER FRIENDLY modifications it ready to ship to FIST :roflol:

FIST98 has taken the order and will provide a Leather Holster in about 6 weeks.. :D

  7. NOW I NEED A Hip HOLSTER for this RIG

When you find one, let us know. I can only find a "universal", that doesn't allow the red dot.

I have eMailed with fist98@aol.com and have agreed to provide them with a shaped wood block for leather casting of the 6" Witness Hunter w/ STS.. I am looking for a Open top hip holster, for my Military web belt & suspender rig. ;)

  8. Howdy from NE Ohio. Try Fist Holsters @ www.fist-inc.com They should be able to help you out. Check out options also.

Hope that helps. And, No I am not getting paid by Fist! I have one of their holsters and they made exactly what I wanted (for a price of course).

  10. GET the New RHT bridge from S.Africa :)

I tried the STS. I had problems with the dot washing out when the sun was over my shoulder (this was even with the setting on Full). You just can't beat the standard C-More.

By the way, I made a couple custom mounts for the STS. I think I still have them at home and would be willing to sell them. One has been drilled for the 5 hole pattern and the other is unfinished and can be drilled for whatever. Let me know if anyone wants these.

The one that has the 5 holes put the scope behind the ejection port. It was also cut to work on a slide that was flattopped about 30 thou. Also notice that there are two steel keenserts that would prevent the screw from stripping the aluminum.

The second mount is an improvement over the first design. I basically reworked the shape so it didn't have the little leg extending over to the 5th screw.

My NEW EAA w/S.African RHT Mount and C-More STS at the BLACK WING SHOOTING CENTER. This my 1st 10Round Clip (after a 2 shot STS sight in.) It was FREE HAND; SLOW FIRE @ 75' :roflol:

  12. I have a Speed sec 5 for my EAA open gun. It would probably work for your hunter.

LOOKS like a lot to carry in the woods :surprise: Is it a 10mm; ie: 1290 fps w/ 649 # of knock down power..

  13. Thanks for ALL of your input, on my problems mounting my 6"Barrel 10m/m Witness Hunter with a Red Dot Sight..

It took 2 weeks to get delivery of the pre-drilled Tanfoglio RHT Mount from S. AFRICA, but they answered any and all questions I had.. :D

I purchased the C-More STS, it requires NO ADAPTOR and has a BATTERY DRAWER.. (no need to remove sight to change it)

I sold the Burris STS on eBay and took a $50 loss.. and JUNKED the EAA recommended "OVERSIZED" BRIDGE / WEAVER RAIL MOUNT another $140 loss.. :(

NOW I NEED A HOLSTER for this rig.. :sight:

  14. JUST GOT MINE IN 10m/m... IT CAME IN A REALLY NICE TANFOGLIO LOCKABLE CASE :)

Single Mag; Extra set of springs...

I ordered a RHT Mount from South Africa and a STS C-More Sight.. (cant wait to mount these)

I have used a Desert Eagle .357 with a small scope in the past for deer hunting in Ohio...

Cant wait to field this 10m/m

    Any recomendations for a holster??

  15. No problem. You'll likely have to get an adapter or do some modification to fit the Burris.

    FINAL SOLUTION

Sold my new Burris on eBay (took the $50 loss)

Sh--Canned the EAA out of date rail mount (took the $140 loss) :angry2:

Purchased the RHT C-More STS 4-hole Tanfoglio Mount

Purchased the STS C-More 7

I hope this information will save someone else a lot of grief and cash...

  16. Has anyone compared the C More STS and a Railway type sight? Any preference? If so which & why.

OUCH, I have :sight: read my forum:

Witness Hunter not happy with Red Dot Sight mount design

THANKS to the lack of current and/or forthcoming info being provided by EAA and/or C-More on the STS subject.. I am still in the process of what should have been a simple mounting to pre-taped frame holes, of a practical sight on my Tanfoglio 6"barrel 10m/m Witness Hunter ..

Not to mention a waste of between $140 and $350 (yet to be determined) in the process of connecting a pistol to a mount then to a adaptor then to a sight.. :excl:

  17. As to the ejection port obstruction, what you are mostly concerned with should be if after the slide cycles fully to the rear, is the top and right side of the port obstructed - many scope mounts block the visible barrel hood and closed ejection port, but spent brass exits at the REAR of the barrel after the port moves fully rearward, not from the closed position.

YES, you are correct... However it was a cumbersome design to facilitate the longer Railmount C-More sight...

I feel that C-More has not been forthcoming on the new Short Tactical Sight and the STS mounting solutions :excl: but may be in the process of dumping their older rail mount C-More and the long 2 pc supporting rail mounts, to the miss-informed...

  18. No problem. You'll likely have to get an adapter or do some modification to fit the Burris.

Ouch...I wonder if I should just eBay my new Burris... another $210.oo loss

    This seems to be a trip-foward by trip-foward installation....:sight:

RHT has sent me this photo of the top. :surprise:

Now I need to check with BURRIS for compatibility

NOTE: The picture shown is of a 3 Hole Installation... The Tanfoglio 4 Hole Pattern is was available to me... :)
