  1. I have a Springfield TRP with a aftermarket trigger job. I don't have a pull gauge, but it was set up to be around 2 lbs. All my other guns are around 3.5. I keep having trouble when I prep the trigger and break the shot too early. Once I shoot it for awhile I adapt and it runs great. I'd like to increase the pull weight slightly to get close to my other comp guns. Can I just tweak the mainspring slightly to increase the pull? It has a complete aftermarket trigger group as he couldn't get it low enough with the stock components. It also still has the stock ILS housing. Any help would be appreciated. I know I could send it back, but the shipping costs for pistols are nuts.

Yes, bend left leg of spring slightly forward.

This would be the sear spring that is located behind the main spring housing.Left leg for sear=total trigger pull weight, Middle leg=take up pull weight, Right leg for grip safety.
  2. You can deal directly with me. If you need a custom mount you can return the one purchased from SC to me, and I'll trade it out.

    Thanks Matt!!!!!!!!!!!

    PM SENT!!

Just wanted to let everyone know what an awesome guy Matt is(Most of you already know). He is custom drilling a mount today and shipping it tomorrow!!!!!!!! I encourage anyone wanting a Matt Cheely product go directly through them.

Thanks for the AWESOME service Matt.

  3. I wouldn't

    It will lose zero

I have both the cheely and Quinn II mounts, and the cheely does sit lower, and further back than the Quinn

If Matt is offering to custom drill a mount for you, go for it, you can't beat his customer service

    Or get the Quinn mount

OK, I'll keep the dremel in the toolbox  and I would contact Matt but I prefer black. I would also have to return the other to Shooters Connection. No big deal, I'll just shoot it stock for a while and when it's broke in do some slide work, Thanks
  4. I mounted quite a few of both mounts and the low clearances or no clearance is not always the fault of the mount.

If the frame was drilled and taped for standard mount, the holes can be lower on the frame then the side mounts were designed for. Round slides vs flattop slides add more variance.

If you buy a used mount, highly suggest you ask the seller what kind of slide it was fit for and look at the fit of your current C-more mount. Measure the position of the holes on your frame and compare. I have seen some c-more holes drilled with a slight downward angle for the mount.

Not all parts are plug and play.

All items are brand new. Bought the STI TruBor from Dawson and brand new Cheely mount from Shooters Connection. I assume the STI drill pattern for the mount is their standard pattern and what most builders use as a standard. Cheely Mount fits the frame pattern perfectly But .005" here and there would add up to a few not fitting.

Anyone know if the front mounting hole on the C More can be slotted .030" to provide slide clearance???

  5. I just tried to install a sideways offset Cheely Cmore mount and it touches the top of the slide. Has anyone run into this?? Looks like I will need to flattop it, but how much can I take off and what would a safe clearance be when I am done.

I am a machinist and have access to a full shop so no problem there.

    Thanks,

  6. Call someone? With my smart phone? Do you realize how many screens and buttons I have to navigate through to find the dial pad on this thing? This is 2012 and I'm on the internet...

I run Chrome w/Google Voice. So, all ya have to do is click on the number and it calls you...to call somebody (Pretty cool).

I don't even have to set down my chalice. :)

Don't tell me ENOS Admins are allowed to drink Stella Artois. I thougt you guys were restricted to Kool-Aid. :eatdrink:
  7. The comp I used to have on my .22 doesn't do much but act as a muzzle weight. I could tell more of a difference if I used CCI stingers, though. On a rifle, there should be less pressure to work it.

They'll fill with lead and carbon, which is nearly impossible to get out. I'd skip the brake.

Also, you may as well just admit you want the gun for yourself and get her a pink cricket.

Muzzle brakes are usually only recomended for jacketed bullets. They will actually shear off the back of a lead bullet, not as bad with plated but still noticable. That being said and being a machinist, I make custom brakes for all my rifles and pistols. Cannot beat the WOW factor. As long as they are cleaned after each match I have not had any issues on my .22lr's.

  8. I guess luck shines upon me once in a while. I came across a Benelli M1S90 this winter with a 21" ribbed barrel w/ chokes from a guy at work $400 bucks........... I almost felt bad taking it from him. Not..Let's see--- Nordic +5, barrel clamp, Speedfeed stock, etc. etc. etc.

Why would you use a Speedfeed?

That's all I could find used for under $100. and it's 1" shorter LOP. Benelli's are $150. if you can find one.
