  1. No update yet. I just need to box it up and ship it off to Glock. I've spoken to more than a few people with this same problem. It doesn't appear to be a widespread problem from what I can tell, but it looks like some of the Gen 4's are coming from the factory shooting high and to the left.

Mine came with factory night sights installed. I've since gone to the Glock plain metal rear sight with the same issue.

  2. Greetings everyone!

I have a Glock 34 which I absolutely love. Great shooting gun and very accurate. However, it shooting radically to the left (about 8" at 25 yards), making it necessary for me to drift the rear sight all the way to the right in the dovetail. None of my other Glocks shoot this way. It's almost as if the barrel hood isn't locking up squarely with the slide. Again, my groups are tight and my other Glocks don't shoot this way so I'm not slapping the trigger. Several of my buddies have also shot it with the exact same results. Anyone out there experienced anything like this too?

    Orange County, California

Former 'smith for Terry Tussey and Paul Liebenberg's Pistol Dynamics # 1.

His pistols are classic, clean, and beautiful...and they run.

He can also do all the crazy lightening cuts that are in vogue on the race guns these days.

Wouldn't let anyone else touch my 1911s.

  4. 2 Express models and an 870P

They all had the same malfunction, the slide would lock in the forward position preventing me from racking in another shell. Didn't matter if I was going slow or fast with it. I ordered new action bars, lined it up real good, even tried polishing the metal to metal contact points and nothing got it to run correctly.

I wanted a pump for HD and had always heard how great 870's were. I know there's a bad apple every once in a while, but 3 in a row? That's uncalled for. I finally said screw it and got a mossberg 500... Haven't had a single problem since. I run it pretty hard on occasion as well.

    Thanks Matt.

    Chris

  5. Sorry about your bad experience with remington. I've owned 3 shotguns from them in the past, all 870's and all of them were shit. I won't go into my dislike of remington...

Anywho... How's that Benelli doing? I didn't see anything bad posted so must be good.

    Hi Matt,

I'm a huge fan of the 870s and just picked up an 870 Police Magnum. I'm curious, what models of 870 gave you the problems and what kind of problems were they?

    All the best,

    Chris

  6. I'm partial to rifle sighted barrels, but run the Ashley Express sights -- as they are faster for me than traditional post and notch rifle sights...

    Nik and Snertley,

Are your Ashley Express sights like the new Remington XS "low profile rifle sights" or is the rear adjustable?

I have the Rem XS sights on my new 870 Police. They're fast up close but a little harder from me to get precision shots with on longer slug shots.

How do your express sights do on longer slug shots?

Any tips for using them on the slug shots?

Think if I picked up a Remington rifle sighted barrel it would be just as fast up close as the express sights but with a little more precision on the slug shots?

    Thanks,

    Chris

  7. Greetings everyone!

I'm planning on purchasing an 870 Police with a 18.5" barrel for HD. Remington offers this shotgun with either an IC or a Mod choke. I plan on loading it primarily with 00 Buck but want the option of shooting slugs through it when necessary.

I like the idea of the Mod choke for tighter groups with 00 Buck but am not sure how the slugs will perform through this choke. Can anyone shed any light?

    Thanks!

  8. Hi everyone,

I have a Winchester SX2 Practical and recently purchased an FN 24" VR barrel for it as I understood that this barrel should fit my SX2. Everything looks good except for what looks like a small screw sticking out of the top of chamber end, about an inch behind the VR. This screw is preventing the barrel from seating all the way into the receiver. Any ideas?

  9. I have a Winchester SX2 Practical. Does anyone know if an SX2/SLP safety comes off from the right? I'm thinking about having a Big Dome safety button welded or pinned to the existing safety button but I don't want to interfere with the ability to take it out.

  10. I too have been thinking about having someone cut my cantilever off to save weight.

I thought I read somewhere on this forum that FN was going to make a 22" VR barrel for the SLP but haven't confirmed this.

    Anyone have further?

Racer, is your cut down barrel on an SLP? If so, any way you can post a pic? Would love to see what it looks like.
