  1. I posted this in reply to another guy having the same issue.   But figure it will be better as a new one.

I called support as I saw it within the first 500 reloads, support guy said he's never heard of the issue and couldn't help.

    * I have torn apart the case feeder assembly - added a shim in to the tube funnel made from a old pop can, ( it helped a little as I was thinking that the cases were able to tilt as they dropped out of the clear tube to the case / plunger adapter ( green funnel).

    * I have also noticed I wasn't having the issue at all when I had only no more than ten cases putting pressure from the top. Which means I have to constantly power ON / OFF the case feeder hopper to keep the the press fed.

I have pictures of what you are seeing too.

    VIDEO Clip of it happening

Any help on this would be great!

  2. Anaxgoras - I am having that sticking issue also - have yet to find a fix.

  3. I had some Tula .308 that I was going to shoot, bullet attracted a magnet but I cut a bullet in half and there was no steel core. Looks like I am good to go.

Am I hearing this correctly? If the bullet which is bi metal (attracts magnet) AND not containing a steel core is OK to shoot at the State match? (*tested with bolt cutters.

I would really love to shoot my cheap non-AP ammo (.308).

    Thanks!

  4. Instead of this turning into a discussion of the good bad and ugly (there are other venues for that) about USPSA, I think we can agree that any match is about what it is made to be by the staff. We are working hard to bring you excellent shooting challenges in an enjoyable match. With the Time-Plus scoring and the excellent stages with experienced 3 gunners as the CROs, I will personally guarantee that only the good of USPSA will exist at this match.

    My bad -

Didn't mean to stir the pot - just dont know what is 'bad' & 'Good'. *New guy* (noob) :D

    Looking forward to the match!!

  5. ...finally saw the website....

Unfortunately, the website explains what this thread didn't, namely you HAVE to be a USPSA member to shoot this match. :angry2:

...and a prize table and everything. Too bad.

    ericm

I concur with the above. To bad this is USPSA member only. I was disappointed to hear this and will very likely count me out.

Ok - what am I missing with people not wanting to join USPSA ??

I just joined because of this match tonight. Is it the $ 40 that is the problem?

***Crap - this is the cheapest 'requirement' I'll probly have in all of 2012 between all the IDPA / USPSA / Major Multi-Gun matches...***

For the locals - we should just be thrilled that there will be one - and $40 + plus the very cheap match fee seems like the cake and we get to eat most of it :P

Look forward to meeting you all.

  6. So that is the dilemia. I Run both half way decent; The Benelli run's like a champ... but only hold 4+1 - plus I'm slow reloading it.

The Rem 870 is 6 + 1 and I can reload way faster; but running the pump is slow!

When you say you run the pump slow, is it slower than the time it takes to load and shoot 7 out of the Benelli? If magazine capacity is the issue, you can get a longer extension tube for the 870.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but with practice on the pump you can run it smooth and fast. I shot a shotgun match last weekend where some of the pump shooters where faster than the autos...

To answer the question; I can empty the Benelli in a bit over a second of the 4+1, reloading 2 more rounds and firing takes me few 5 - 10 seconds depending where I'm stripping the shells from... Shooting the pump is much slower but I can fill the magazine to capacity (6) if using the side saddle + belt holder in about 6 - 8 seconds.

I'll try to explain this differently.

The Remington 870 is faster to reload. Holds more ammo. (6+1)

The Benelli is much faster to shoot. Holds less ammo.(4+1) Slower to reload.

Question is: Is speed of the shots on target, but slower, more often reloads, better then shooting slower with more ammo capacity and faster reloads?

Thanks for answering a new (to 3 gun) guys questions!! Just trying to avoid coming in last place in my first 3GUN :P

  7. which shotgun do you run the best? Thats the one I'd take if I were you.

I'm considering buying the Mossy 930 SPX - then I get the capacity + plus speed ... but I don't know how it is to reload.
