  1. This morning stomach cancer took one of the greatest rockers that have ever lived from us. Rest in peace Ronnie

First concert Dio fronting Black Sabbath on the Heaven and Hell tour in Seattle at Memorial Stadium.

    RIP \m/

  2. That 'white' stuff is called snow. Here in Utah we have all 4 seasons. Where as in, say, Texas there's only 2 (hot and a lot hotter). :roflol:

Joking aside, thanks for the reply. Yeah I really do enjoy every aspect of this sport (well maybe not the malfunctions). Hopefully the more I do it the better Ill get.

:) Yes sir! We have two summers which is cool, Summer and Super Summer lol

You will be amazed at the progress. You will get better and if you dry fire it will just help all the way around. But the best thing is you're safe and that's the most important part. Everything else will fall into place and the more you put into it, the more you'll get in return. The people in this sport are so nice and helpful as you probably have already witnessed.

Also his comment at the end, well I know I would do the same for my friend lol

  3. Ok. So heres my second match. Im the dude in the green shirt and my buddy is in the blue shirt. Please feel free to critique my shooting and heckle as neccesary. BTW, Dont pay any attention to my friends commentary on the last stage.... I was trying to be as safe as possible. Hope you guys enjoy watching me clear jams from my blaster. Last friggin time I use plated ammo.

WHAT is that crazy white stuff on the hill, is that some sort of nuclear sand? :goof:

I know you must know this by now but your life will never be the same. If you're like me you now have a habit worse than crack but the good thing is your teeth will stay nice and pretty :)

Very nice job and keep the videos coming. Hope you can figure out what's up with that white stuff though, that is making me really nervous. lol

  4. Best match ever , for me.

Even though I was RM. Real tired at this point, and glad to be home.

I shot Ok , Had fun and stayed dry, except for the last Hour.

But I WON the BRILEY SHOTGUN , :surprise::cheers::)

    WoW! Congrats!

Thanks for everything Dave, and thanks for being available to us over at Stage 1.

First time for me at a big match and being able to score was a huge plus. I had an awesome time watching everyone come through the stage and everyone was super nice.

Oh, Congrats Jack S. on the XD raffle!

  5. Happy Birthday!

Hope it's ok to join the site, have to keep up with all goings on with Team Amish!

To join, for initiation, do I have to make a piece of furniture or do a horse and wagon race for a particular amount of time? Just wondering how I can get in on this ;)

  6. Just posting this to set a goal and hopefully get some insight if anyone has done this. I wanted to take a long ride this year on my Hayabusa and wanted it to be memorable. After talking with a friend of mine who rides and wants to give this a shot as well. So here goes, the Iron Butt Association ( http://www.ironbutt.com/ridecerts/getdocument.cfm?DocID=1 ) has a bunch of guidelines for rides and time limits to do them in and if done you can submit an application and fee to get a certificate, pin etc and recognition on their website I think. Not 100% sure on all this since just found out about this earlier today.

What I am going to attempt is get both the 1000 miles in 24 hours and 1500 miles in 36 hours completed during a 4000 mile trip I am planning for the last two weeks of May. The attempt for the 1k and 1500 mile ride will be the first leg. So, going to start in Houston, TX go to Niagara Falls, NY (google maps says close to 1500 miles so if I have to ride a little more north or east to get that in I can).

I have done 1000 miles at one time on my bike so I feel that is in the bag, it's just the next 500 I'm really hoping to pull off and crossing my fingers that the weather will cooperate. I have pretty much a stock '05 Hayabusa (slip-on Yoshi Carbon Fiber) and that's pretty much it, no double bubble, no risers, pegs all stock.

    Ok so here's the plan:

Houston - Niagara Falls - Cleveland (Rock & Roll HOF, just to say I've been there even though Rush not being in is a crime but that's another post) - up through the UP of Michigan - Minneapolis - Memphis (friend has never been to Graceland) - back home to Houston. Google maps has this as a little over 4000 miles and want to get this done in 10 - 11 days. (Staying 2 full days to party with my brother in Minneapolis on Memorial Day Weekend)

Ok sorry long post and if you read it thanks :) if you have done this type of ride some words of wisdom are greatly appreciated!

  7. Thanks for the link to the TSS website. I'm interested in learning more about the clubs down there because of a possible relocation to the area. How many stages are shot on average at these clubs. Which are the most active? Are they primarily outdoor ranges?

Moved to Houston from Kent 10 years ago. Best thing I ever did :). Year round motorcycle riding and now that I've started shooting, year round as well.

  8. I just wanted to say thanks for everything and I am very happy with the decision I made due to the huge amount of information on the site (Dillon FAQ FTW!) and thank you to all the people that post. I purchased a 550 a month ago and have a background of never reloading before and not great when it comes to being a mechanically minded person. I always take way longer than it should to put stuff together etc and I was pretty nervous about getting this press.

Reading through the Dillon FAQ 3 times (I have OCD issues it seems) :), I said wth and knew I needed to purchase the Top Notch kit as it would give me everything I need to get started. I watched the instructional DVD a couple times then followed it while putting the press together. Everything worked out great even though someone else could have put it together in half the time but that's ok, I was set and ready to roll. Got everything dialed in and started cranking out rounds being very careful to make sure everything was as it should be.

I just finished the first 1k tonight for a match tomorrow and just felt I needed to tell this story. If you are on the fence about purchasing a press etc, you can't go wrong buying from Brian and the support here is incredible. The amount of knowledge is staggering!

Ok so now to end this book, thank you Brian and everyone that posts this really helps guys like me and I am very grateful! Now I need to stop slacking and shoot more than 1k a month ! :)

sorry for the run-on sentences, I get carried away at times

I studied the option of XP vs Windows 7, and to me, Windows 7 didn't look bad enough in comparison to avoid.

Congrats on the buy! I have been running Windows 7 for a while on this laptop here at home (32 bit) and have had no complaints so far. And just loaded up a machine at work with 64bit Windows 7 just for giggles and again so far so good. We have a lot of proprietary software so I've been playing with getting those loaded but all in all Windows 7 is better than my experience with Vista.

  10. This is going to be either you like it or you hate it I think but here goes:

Was fumbling around YouTube yesterday and found a band Rock Sugar, they just released an album and it "meshes" songs such as Don't Stop Believin' from Journey and Enter Sandman from Metallica (like most wouldn't know that)

It is definitely a gimmick but these guys really pull it off IMO. I am not a huge fan of pop but it's interesting the way they do this. I did a search in YouTube of Rock Sugar Don't and that brought up a few hits on that song and another Bohemian (sp) Rhapsody and Kick Start My Heart (Queen and Motley respectively)

If you grew up in the 80's this is fun to see what they've done. I won't get into too much detail with the other songs but feel free to comment, I am interested in if it really is a like/hate deal.

  11. Powerslave was the first cassete I bought to play in my new boom box.

Seen them in concert twice. I'll have to check out the new stuff.

I would recommend watching that dvd that came out last year Flight 666 - The Movie I think it was. Triplesinglestack is right on the money on an earlier post. The commentary is great, Bruce Dickinson is a friggin' stud, flying to the shows in their jet and then performing. Great stuff and I think it's a must for any Maiden fan.

I had to download the songs on Rock Band 2 for my Xbox as well. Sad but true :)

  12. I tried multiple restore points --- and couldn't get it to go. Wouldn't a re-installation and format from the Dell-provided CD undo any updates? Or am I missing something there?

I could buy a copy of Win 7, and try to load that --- I'm just leery of dumping a bunch of money into this box....

I had a problem like this with laptops here at work with Dell's latest driver. What I did was on Dell's website they had a link for the older drivers for the network adapters and I grabbed the newest of those and it fixed the issue. We have had motherboards come in for warranty from Dell and they were DOA but it sounds like the problem went right along with the change so hopefully it's just the Vista driver and was updated etc.

Sorry for the rambling, hope you get it fixed soon.

  13. Okay, I have to rub it in. Shot in some weather this Saturday reminiscent of Spring. You guys from the south, eat your hearts out.

Got so warm, I was about ready to rip the layers off. I was actually looking for a little bit of shade, something I haven't had to do at a match in what feels like forever.

I had some pretty big brain farts, and could have definitely shot better, but you couldn't wipe the stupid smile off my face from being outside in the sun, doing what I love to do. Maybe I was just distracted.

Fun match, great squad what more could you ask for.

:) damn El Nino! It was cold down here in Houston that or raining.

Grew up in Kent, say hi to Taco Time for me, I miss that place :)

  14. Those are some great cds. I wore Powerslave out when I was younger.

Gotta love your USPSA number, too... roflol.gif

lol :) I do like that number, I laughed when I saw it, the only way it could have been more perfect if it was 66613, being born june 13, 66 but I'll take it.

Sorry to say though, I was not born on a Friday.

  15. Microsoft security essentials has the best detection rate currently of all the free anit-virus/anti-malware/anti-spyware out there. Avast free edition is the next closest, but MSE takes up less memory and processor.

IIRC kaspersky still leads the pack of all the paid solutions.

Using Security Essentials for the last few months and have been happy. Free is always good and even better when it works and the definitions are actively updated.

  16. Maiden was my first real concert cheers.gif Seen 'em three or four times. The newer stuff doesn't do much for me, but... still drag out Powerslave, Piece of Mind, Number of the Beast....

Those are some great cds. I wore Powerslave out when I was younger.
