  1. We are all going to die, so enjoy life while you have it.

There is a saying your number is up when your numbers up but there are a lot of things you can do to take cuts in line by doing stupid things, If you walk out into traffic while texting your number can be up right now. My opinion is there is enough risk in the world that we can't control or simply have to take because of our jobs, situation etc. Why take unnecessary risks that we know will shorten our lives. Its just a matter of how much.

If you don't want to smoke, don't smoke. If all you want to eat is vegetables, go for it. If the smoking lamp is lit, smokem if you gottem. If you don't like guns, don't own them. To each his own. :)

  2. I'm not sure if the prep is worse than the recovery...they fill up your large intestine with gas to use the scope...during recovery it's one mean farting machine, then the doc comes in to tell you all is ok, but then you have to ask him if he found the remote?

Funny story..... I had SEVERE gastritis which is inflammation of the stomach lining forever and the doctor wanted to do an endoscopy where they shove the camera down your throat. Being it was Kaiser, they wanted to do the colonoscopy at the same time because it's done at the same place and even uses the same camera equipment. So I had to ask:

"You do wash that thing in between the procedures don't you?"

I had the endo and the colon done at the same time. Had a coupon buy one and get the other free ;);) Its been over five years so I guess I should get my butt back in there.

  3. I found this from a post on another forum.

The smelter closing is a 'primary' smelter. In this case, that refers to the type of work they do and not their position in the market. Primary smelters convert ore into metal ingots. I believe the next largest is in Canada.

There are lots of secondary smelters still operating in the US that recycle lead and cast it. They recover lead of all types from batteries, etc and smelt it down before sending it to the people that actually make products out of it

Too bad they didn't put any money into upgrading their facility. This problem didn't happen overnight, and I'm sure they would have seen this coming. Could be they didn't really care about continuing their business.

    Greg

May be it was too expensive to upgrade.

  4. My dad passed away today. His body finally gave away after years of pain. He was still strong mentally and had his sarcastic sense of humor til the end. He worked forty years as a milkman for Curly's Dairy, served in the Guard during Korea, umpired softball, we went to the range a couple of times, but mostly fishing and watching the fights together. He was a good dad that worked his ass off for our family whether it was for the basic necessities of life or spending his free time helping us kids with sports. Good Bye Dad..... :( :(

  5. I think that we will be fine regardless of what happens.

They still shoot IPSC in Canada and IIRC, Hawaii has a 10 rd max for pistols.

I understand that. But if I can only have ten rounds in a gun I would rather have a Glock/XD etc than I would a custom build.

My custom gun will be just as beautiful and shoot just as good. More reloads just means more mags. If anything, ill just try and get them when available.

Yeah, I don't see the issue here. My Open gun will still be just as exciting as before, I just wont be able to blast away at little plates & mini-poppers like i do now! :o Oh good God, I might have to actually "Call My Shots!"

Either way I'll never sell my Open gun.

Thats not one of those guns with a threaded barrel is it?

  6. Jared71,

If you really want to tell someone about the sporting side of firearms….take them shooting!

If YOU (we) can get more of the voting public on "our side" then we can make a difference.

As Denise said the NRA knows about 3-gun and the many other competitions with self loading firearms.

Congress" knows" about them too, but we should not expect, nor should we offer an exemption for our sport.

As it has been said…if you we don't hang together, we will surely hang separately!"

We have power in our numbers…

I'll say this again…loudly "IF EVERY GUN OWNER WAS AN NRA MEMBER AND VOTED ,CONGRESS WOULD HAVE TO ASK OUR PERMISSION TO TAKE A CRAP!"

Please write and please make sure you are a member of the NRA.

Now, it is obvious that a couple of you guys are very young as Joe (I never met a gun I didn't want to ban) Biden has been a rabid

anti-gun zealot for is entire tenure in congress!

You ain't gonna change his mind, and frankly you aren't going to sway those WHO HAVE and are continuing to infringe on our rights.

This has been going one LONG before the 1994 AWB.

You want this to stop…then we must band together as ONE group of gun owners (not trap shooters or hunters saying F' the AR guys, who needs those) and fight. How???? Again though our rights a citizens. Write, assemble, donate and vote!

Before you buy one more item for shooting, buy a membership to the NRA or donate the price of a box of bullets, or a local match fee.

Why the NRA??? Because when the whining and name calling begins (it has) the NRA is THE outfit that the antis call out as the problem.

    PK

+1,000,000. I still remember watching the debates on Cspan back then. I still remember throwing that $80 remote control into the wall.

  7. I hate that panic buyers can all of a sudden choke up money for mags, guns etc. but does not contribute to any gun activist group like the NRA.

Don't forget GOA and your local pro gun group.

  8. Can you blame those that are panic buying? You know the phrase, "If you snooze, you lose," well it's true. That's what happened the last time and I had to wait ten years until normal prices came back to earth.

  9. Cheaper Than Dirt has announced that it will be selling guns again. That this "stoppage" was just so that they could review their processes and make sure there were no issues. Basically CYA. Since they only ship to FFL and do no direct consumer delivery they were pretty well covered.

The price gouging though was a bit silly yesterday.

I just read that over at AR15.com and it wasn't too well received.
