  1. We have 4 bays and a rifle area that goes out to 220 yards. In the bays most of the stages are similar to USPSA stages in their set up. I usually have 3 of the stages use 2 guns and one of them require all 3. The long range stage usually involves rifle and shotgun. I try to set up the stages so they all have a winning time around 30 seconds. Making sure reset doesn’t take too long is also key to good flow. Not having more than 12 people per squad also helps.

local range based ther rules on smm3g (http://www.cvrp.org/outlaw3gun-rules.pdf)

At least we have a printed set of rules. some don't.

Whoever wrote your stealth rules didn't pay attention to the original rules very well. Rifle is supposed to be basically an open rifle and if you have a bipod it stays on the gun. Shotgun is allowed to have a dot and tube length is restricted. For pistol 140mm mags with iron sights and standard mags for a slide ride dot.

  3. Tennessee will be home to a 15 match series of multigun matches going from March to September, culminating in a points champion, prize table, and shoot off. The matches will be held at Middle TN Shooters Club, Oak Ridge Sportsman's Association, Dead Zero Shooting Center, Tac 2 in Greenville, and Southern Action shooters in Cleveland. More info can be found at http://www.tennesseemultigun.com I can also answer questions here.

  4. The problem of too many divisions could be handled with a little consolidation of divisions. Do away with 2x4 tac as it wasn't really a smart decision to add that any way. Combine 2x4 open and open into one division, just call it open. Do away with limited and make 2 gun a 1x optic division. Then you are left with tac optics, heavy, open, pcc, and 2 gun. Im even ok with doing away with pcc in UML and only having it in UPL matches.

  5. Middle Tennessee Shooters Club in Manchester will be hosting a United Multigun League match on Sunday September 2nd. The UML ruleset can be found here http://unitedmultigunleague.com/uml-rules/

The following divisions will be recognized, tac optics, tac irons, heavy tac, open, 2x4 tactical, 2x4 open, pcc, 2gun (rifle/pistol) plus our traditional Heavy Metal division.

With all the options available to the shooters it is difficult to give an exact round count but if you're shooting one of the 3 gun divisions 100 for each gun should be enough. For 2 gun bring 150 for each and pcc should bring 250 to 300.

We will be shooting 5 stages, longest shot will be around 200 yards. No slings necessary.

There will be a link posted for early sign up on practiscore or sign up at the match. Registration will be from 1100 to noon and we'll get started promptly thereafter. Match fee is $25 for non members of the range and $20 for members. If this will be your first time shooting a match please arrive early for a new shooters orientation.

I can be reached here or at sumocrp@aol.com with any questions.

Practical 3-Gun.pdf Long time lurker of course - interested in divisions quite a bit myself. To the point that I decided to start writing various Outlaw match rules and divisions of my own. Writing them out really helps to find the flaws and I am sure there are still many but I've attached (not sure what that does so this is a test run) a pdf of the current 3-Gun version. It's meant to be an Outlaw match so some of it doesn't apply to the theme of this thread but the divisions I think do. I've been shooting a P09 with a red dot in open at my local club for a couple seasons now and it works out just fine for me at the club level but I don't think it's really viable for someone who is competitive at major matches.

Silly. When you have some more free time there is this really cool thing called the wheel that you can try to reinvent.

It's been many years since I've seen a match, or a shooter shoot an actual "Heavy Metal" set up with .45, pump shotgun and .308.  Those shooters are pretty much non existent nowadays so I don't see the point in adding a division for a dozen shooters across the U.S.

Just because you aren't seeing it doesn't mean heavy metal isn't still being enjoyed. We had 9 shooters in heavy metal at Blue Ridge this last year and my monthly match has between 2 and 10 HM shooters every month.

  10. Middle Tennessee Shooters Club in Manchester will be hosting a multigun match on Sunday April 8th. I know this is technically not the 1st Sunday of the month but the 1st is Easter, hence the rescheduling. The following divisions will be recognized; Open, Tac ops, Tac limited, Heavy Metal, 2 gun (rifle/pistol), and PCC. It will feature 5 fun and challenging stages. 100 rounds for each gun  and 2 slugs should get you through the match if you are shooting one of the 3 gun divisions, bring more if shooting 2 gun or pcc. No slings necessary. You can pre-register on practiscore or at the range on the day of the match. Registration on match day is from 1100 to noon and we'll get started shortly thereafter. I can be reached at sumocrp@aol.com with any questions you may have.

With this picture and from the UML rules I read, let’s say I only wanted to shoot 2 guns, an open pistol and a tac ops rifle, does it fall into a 2X4 category? Per rules 2 gun division uses only tac ops rifle and pistol.

I guess you could shoot 2x4 with that but you would take a penalty on any clay targets they set out. Pcc and 2 gun have provsions for skipping those targets but in 2x4 you would need to use a shotgun to engage them or take an fte.
