  1. I also shot on Saturday as an RO and had a great time except for the heat wearing me down. I will probably have one of the better "times" on the tower stage with 89 seconds, however after all my penalties bumped it up to about 340. It would have helped if I had remembered to take my rifle ammo with me as well as more than 10 rounds of pistol. Ahh, but I still had a blast and shot with some great guys.

  2. A great match! KUDOS to everyone from Match director on down. ROs were great. Next year for sure.

If anyone found a range finder case. i left mine on stage 1 (by the lake) on Thursday. gimme a shout.

    again, what a great match.

I worked stage four with great guys helping out, both named Chris. A couple of things I did learn was, I am not as young as I thought I was, you will find places that will ache that haven't for a long time and splatter hurts. Met some great people while working and saw some very good shooting as well.

When my non shooting friends ask what I did this weekend, I have been telling them I spent 4 days at the lake, shooting guns, chasing women, good food, cold beer and was shot by a cop! Why let a few "minor details" get in the way of a good story!

Am already planning to work again next year unless my wife does me in first!

Good to see the "unofficial" Sierra shooting team again.

  3. Any lengthy pistol shots? Like 30+ yards?

we cant give it all away! where's your sense of adventure?

It would help us with our "7 P's"...Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

But I guess its better for me to have some surprises. That way, I'll have somewhat of an excuse in hand. ;)

    The first rule of planning?

When the timer goes "beep", The brain goes "DOH"!

  4. The Grandstay was almost across the street from the Radisson, and in the past they would offer a discount to Tri-Gun competitors. It had really nice facilities.

Albert- i would suggest using the GrandStay as a backup to the Radisson. I mean really, if competitors aren't going to use the match hotel, why do I bother setting up a block/special rate? I haven't yet spoken with the GrandStay so I can't guarantee that there will be a reduced rate like years past...

I checked online yesterday, Radisson shows as being FULL, but called and spoke with gal at the desk. They had about 30 rooms for the match set aside, that is why it shows as full when trying to book on line. Lined one up for the match dates in 5 minutes.

  5. This is my first post.

Have been lurking in the shadows before.

This will also be my 8th year at the match and planning to be there even if it is only a 2 gun match. But then the Sierra Redneck Shooting Team may disown me this year after my last years performance!!! :)

George, you know you will always be with us. I think this year you will even have a real shirt, not the trainee one.

Well I will do my best to keep it!!

Has any thought been given to using "airsoft" pistols on a stage or two. Don't some of the sponsors handle "airsoft"? Close range and normally not considered firearms under the law, could be a way around the permit for this year.
