My holster is for a STI tactical but it fits my full railed SVI and X300 no worries. It even fits my glock 17 well.

They'd all be pretty similar with the light attached I think.

what brand / model holster is that?

  2. just to clarify, it sounds like he's trying to make the mag release button point forward and not switch it to the opposite side.

tigerfan_9 (sorry dude, i know i met you a few times but i'm horrible with names), have you tried using your middle finger instead of your trigger finger?

yes, i am trying make the button point forward to make it more accessible for my index finger. i have tried my middle finger but my index seems to have more dexterity and is quicker to the release. i can function most releases fine, i am just looking to make it easier/faster for my competition rig.

we have met once or twice...you loaned me a "backwards" holster when i shot Bannon's 34 last year. name is stephen.

  3. Now that the match is nearly over, can you let us know what you used and what the p.f. was over the match chronograph?

    Thanks.

I shot Remington UMC 180gr FMJ for the match. Chrono results were:

    180gr

    shot velocities: 954, 965, 961

    avg: 960

    PF: 172.9

  4. You can go straight to Hodgdon's website for the straight dope. (Sorry, couldn't resist the pun.)

Your load will vary though depending on what gun you are loading for. For S_I and EAA/Tanfoglio's that like to be loaded long (1.180"+), you may discover that you have to go over book values to make major.

yeah i saw that....but i wanted a couple other sources for comparison. plus they only list the Hornady XTP with is a JHP and i would like to see if there is a difference for the FMJ.

  5. What reloading books list titegroup loads for .40 / 180gr ? I am looking to get more data on this but I have checked a couple manuals with no listing. Any help here would be great. I am looking for load data for both 180gr FMJ and 180gr JHP. If anyone has this and can scan/post or just type in the loads I'd be great-full. Thanks.

  6. Federal and Blazer Brass 180gr comfortably make major out of my TS (5.4" BBL). I have had chrono readings up to 180+ PF; generally is around 178PF - chrono'ed at 177PF for the Ohio Sectional last year using factory Federal.

I have a bunch of 180grn Rem UMCs that I may use for this one and work on my reloads for later matches.

  7. Factory or aftermarket barrel?

In my Glock 35, 4.2gr of Titegroup under a 180gr Berry's bullet makes major out of the factory barrel. 4.4 does it out of my KKM barrel. YMMV. Buy a chronograph.

what OAL are you loading to for those? I am also planning to load with titegroup and 180 JHP Zeros so I may just bump it up a couple tenths to 4.5 are go with that, then fine tune it later when I have more time. the recommended loads for titegroup for .40 is 4.2 to 4.7 so it would still be in the middle of the range, not like fine tuning for max press.

if i happen to not make major no big deal, as i said this is probably my 5th match and first in Limited so not looking to win it anyway.

    factory barrel.

  9. I have only been shooting USPSA for a short time (4 matches last year) and haven't shot in several months, I will be attending the Area 4 in North LA this year for the first time and will be shooting my new rig in Limited. I recently got a Glock 35 setup for Limited along with mags, belt, etc.

Anyway, I am just getting started with reloading and have not been able to work up a load and chrono it (as I don't have one), so what would be my best option for factor ammo to make major? Unless someone wants to chrono some loads for me this weekend.

  11. I've never felt a classic kit from him, but I have the super trigger kit and it's outstanding.

I'm also shooting a G35 in limited. I say go for it, you will NOT regret it.

do you have the GM super with the modded firing pin or just the super?

  12. Can anyone give me some insights/opinions on the differences between the Classic and the Super trigger from Vanek? I've read the website but any additional info would be great.

Also, it looks like the GM version of each adds a tuned/modded striker, do you recommend doing this also of just stick with the trigger?

    P.S. I'm shooting a G35 setup for Limited.
