  1. There's pretty much at least one USPSA match every weekend in the Phoenix area, frequently two. Cactus Match League out at Ben Avery this Sun, an all classifier at Phoenix Rod & Gun a week from Sat, and a match at Rio Salado a week from Sun. No reason to have to wait for Tuesdays

  2. I have the little Dillon tumbler, and I load it with media to about 3-4" from the top. I'll load it with brass till it's almost full, then tumble for ~2 hrs. After I separate the media and brass, I wipe the tumbler out with a damp paper towel and dump the media back in till next time. I also tumble my finished rounds for ~15 mins to get the lead lube off -- in that case I only put in ~250 rounds since they're so heavy.

  3. I remember from my rock climbing days that there is a theory that instructions that control complex movement (what people call muscle memory) are stored in the brain as engrams. Climbers have noticed that when they take time off from training and climbing they may make rapid improvement when they resume climbing, despite losing some conditioning. The thinking went that taking time off allowed the sloppiness inherent in the practiced movement to leave the memory, leaving only the overpracticed movement. It seems like this would also apply to shooting where engrams would store the movements needed for presentations, reloads, target transitions, indexing, etc.

  4. My score seems to be 98.3374% so it is slightly different than 98.87% calculated above. I mean, slightly :)

That's very interesting. cmcalc gives the same result that I calculated, so it's not just me. :roflol:

According to the Classification Course Book, USPSA is using a simple linear function to calculate the percentage. I wonder if they would change the HHF midway through the monthly update? That just seems wrong somehow.

  5. Shot this one Saturday at PSAC, 6.31, down 4 for a HF of 5.7052 in Limited. 69.3% in local results, guessing about 55%.

National percentage ended up @ 63.4284

Ackkk! I saw your % was different than I calculated, so I thought they changed the HHF slightly. Then Monster posted and it was the same as I had calculated. So, I looked back at my spreadsheet, and I made a simple typo. I said 65.43, but the spreadsheet says 63.43. Glad it wasn't any worse than that

  6. Cactus Combat Match League shot this Jun 6. Assuming my arithmetic is correct and they don't change the HHF in a single month, I get

    Bret 88.96%

    Hannu 98.87%

    MarkCO 65.43%

    a.roberts 40.38%

    monster 74.58%

Sorry colt, but nobody shot revo that day :roflol:

Now if I could just find a club that shot 09-14 last month.. God give me patience, and I want it right now!

  7. Can singlestack mag pouches be angled, or do they have to be perpendicular to your belt? After shoulder surgery, I have limited range of motion and strength behind my back, and it would sure be easier to pull the 4th/5th mags out if I could angle them a bit towards the outside of my body. Thanks!
