  1. Anyone know of regularly-scheduled (e.g., NOT the CMMG 3-gun match) 3-gun or multigun matches in SE Iowa, NE Missouri, or just about anywhere in Illinois?

    Thanks!

We just had our first 3gun shoot this last weekend. What a blast!!

We are located in S.E. Iowa and the page url is

    seipsg.net

We plan on more and everyone is welcome. We are pretty laid back group on everything but safety! We cut no corners with that!!

Check out our web site, most info is there. Join in

We are going to have a regular outlaw as in no sanction but use the regular format 3gun shoot 3 times in 2012. The shoots will be 5/19 = 7/21 = and 9/22 2012

We are a little new at this but we have a ball. Everyone is welcome. We shoot steel and paper and clay targets.

  4. I have a pt1911 and see no reason to think of buying anything else at this time. Good, accurate, reliable. (Shrug) why would I want to replace it?

Never had a STI so no thoughts on them

The PT 1911 I have I shoot IDPA with and have over 2500 rnds through and that is just the documented reloads. I have no idea of the wwb I have shot.with zero issues! Maybe some day who knows but most handguns have issues of some kind in their usable lifespan.

But then I drive fords also No government motors for me. :roflol::sight:

  5. Good day

I was wondering what all you people have or use to cover the targets when it starts to rain? Cheapest and or best.We have small coffer so our pockets are shallow.

  6. It can be quite a few things from your trigger pull or grip.

How much live fire groups are you practing. Dryfire is good but you need to put rounds downrange working on groups every practice. You can bench and bag it or shoot freestyle or both. Using sandbags will allow you to isolate your trigger finger and take pretty much everything else out of the equation. You can really work on a nice smooth trigger pull.

Also what distance are you talking about??

It could be nothing more than getting excited during a competition and holding the grip differently than you do in practice without realizing it.

    Flyin

I shoot most every day as I have my own range. I shoot IDPA style practice at 3 to 21 yds 9mm and 45. I have shot for 50 or more years but just started with cfire handguns 2 years ago. Am a long time rifle shotgun shooter.

I figured out in a short that this is much more demanding to get right. I am getting tired of being near the bottom and need to get better but think I need instruction on some of it. I hit fairly good in 0 ring then everything goes wrong . They start going where they want. Frustrating!

  7. Good day

I seem to have a problem I work on but still goes on.

I shoot good groups with 1911 .45 and pt92 9mm. But somewhere I always come up with one or two that are in the 3 ring left side of IDPA targets usually lower than center. Hard on scores :angry2:

Any ideas? I try to work on trigger control and do a lot of dry fire and the thing never moves. This happens when in match.
