  1. The vast majority of the prizes have been shipped as of today. I have a couple of the larger range bags and plaques that still need to go out, but that's only because I can't find boxes that are big enough to ship them in (they don't collapse, dangit).

Y'all should be getting your stuff in the next few days.

Some of it was sent out with the guns last month. The guys who won the guns gave me a list of names of people that they shot with, so we stuffed as much of that stuff in the gun boxes.

  2. Sorry guys... I haven't been on the forums for awhile... been extremely busy.

Part of the stuff was sent out (the guns, and some of the prizes that guys said was ok to consolidate...it cost more to ship the guns than than I thought). The rest of it will go out this Monday (we have another match tomorrow, and that'll give me enough in the club account to send the rest of the stuff out).

I appreciate the offers to send money for shipping, but I'm not gonna ask people to spend money to get something they won from our match.

  3. Yep... Mike's been changed to revo. Only wish the following two things...

    1. I had a revo that was moonclipped.

    2. I wasn't going to be in Vegas for the Multi-Gun Nationals. :)

    Anyway...

We are up to 52 competitors for the match already.

    The current breakdown is:

    Production - 18 Competitors (1GM, 5B, 6C, 3D, 3U)

    Single Stack - 12 Competitors (3A, 3B, 3C, 3D)

    Limited - 8 Competitors (1A, 2B, 3C, 1D, 1U)

    Open - 7 Competitors (1M, 1A, 4B, 1U)

    Lim 10 - 5 Competitors (4C, 1U)

    Revolver - 2 Competitors (1M, 1C)

Plaques (actually... medals from Manny) will be awarded for each division/class/category (except U) that has 5+ competitors (Bold and Underlined above). All medals will be mailed, so I can make sure that all classes are awarded properly. Competitors will receive ALL medals that they qualify for (i.e. you can win both a division and class award, in more than one division if you shoot both days)

Don't forget... all entries, including reshoots, count for awards. You can shoot both days, but you can't shoot the same division both days. WE NEED MORE REVO SHOOTERS....

LOGO CONTEST: If anyone has any ideas for a logo for the medals, fire them off to me. 4 color only, not to busy, so it looks good on the medals. The only requirement is that somewhere it says "2009 Milan Fall Classic" Winner gets 1 free entry for each day of the match (may be transferred, so any and all may enter). I'd like to get this done as soon as possible, so entries must be received NLT midnight on October 5th, 2009. If you've already entered the match, and you win, you'll get your entry fee back. E-Mail entries to milanuspsa@gmail.com

  4. Well folks... the stages (which you haven't seen) are going to be drastically updated over the next month or so. We may end up with somewhere around 14... we're gonna try and go with the USPSA recommended stage ratio's. (i.e. short to medium to long).

Some of the shorter stages will be doubled up. In other words, you'll shoot one, and go directly to another one.

There will be two classifiers at the match.

One last thing... I am starting a contest for next years logo. The winner will get a free entry into the match, as well as a plaque recognizing their talents.

    The requirements are as follows:

    1. Limited to 4 colors.

    2. Must be in some kind of vector format (i.e. adobe illustrator, ect)

    3. Must have the following phrases: "2010 Canyon Creek Area 5 Championships" and "Milan Rifle Club"

Other than that, design to your hearts content. E-Mail entries to me at milanuspsa@gmail.com

Winner will be selecting the winner on November 1st, 2009.

  5. Yes, we had a stand-in for the beaver until her contract was renegotiated. She wanted more cambium because we first told her she would only have to be thrown into the basket about 100 times. When she found out the that number had doubled she swatted me with her tail and escaped into the woods. We think, in protest, she dammed up the creek in the hopes the match would be canceled do to flooding.

Our MD saved the day when he promised her she could use 10 extra trees for her dam and told her we would all "gently" place her in the basket.

    :roflol:

  6. by watching bens video i just realized all of us that shot on friday had the fake beaver, ben was holding a real beaver! now it all starts to make sense!

You had the "Frank forgot the real beaver at home" beaver... (that just doesn't sound right...)

Anyway... what everyone has been waiting for....

2009 Illinois Sectional Championship Plaque and Medal Winners.

Plaques were ordered using numbers 10 days before the match. Additional awards will not be ordered.

    1st place for 3-5 competitors, 2nd place 6-8 competitors, 3rd place 9+ competitors

A separate prize list will be published after the results go final. Per the matchbook, competitors can only win one prize (except for category winners). The next highest place competitor will receive the prize if the person who would have won it has already received a prize.

  7. For those that didn't get the e-mail from the USPSA system...

After reviewing all 2020 scoresheets, I now believe that the results match what was submitted.

Some will not be happy with the corrections, as some no-shoots and procedurals were not in the system, but were on the scoresheets. That has been corrected.

A couple people will be happy (me included). A couple of times were updated in the competitors favor, and me personally, somehow 24 extra penalty points showed up on one of my stages...

All in all, the stats goddesses did an excellent job. For Beth M not being overly familiar with EzWinScore, I only found maybe 10 errors. Thats a 0.5% error rate. I wish we were all that good at our jobs. Good job ladies.

I will be posting who won what plaques shortly.

    Frank

  8. And thanks to y'all for coming. I hope I did a great job for my rookie try and running a major :roflol:

Lots of little things I noticed that I could do better, but I hope that the majority of it went unnoticed by the competitors. A great learning experience preparing for Area 5.

I'd like to take a minute to thank the staff. Obviously, I couldn't have done this match without you. From ALL competitor reports, the RO's were very professional and did their jobs to the best of their ability. Even after getting a bee sting in the neck

Also, I'd like to thank Ray Hirst for coming up and RM'ing the match. We can't get much better than Ray for an RM. He has already volunteered to come back up for the Area shoot next year.

I'd also like to thank Jim Thompson for QM'ing the match. His efforts during set-up made our job a lot easier. Very few prop problems, and to the best of my knowledge, not one call for calibration.... which was surprising with the muddy ground.

Lastly, I'd like to thank the competitors. Y'all helped to make this a very successful match. Our attendance SHATTERED the previous record for the Illinois Sectional. Old record was 147. We had 202... :surprise:

I hope to see y'all back for the Area shoot next year. In case you are interested in a last hooraa for the year, our 13th annual Milan Fall Classic will be held October 24-25. It's a level I match, which means you can shoot both days, in different divisions. More info can be found here:

    http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=933876

$30, 10 stages. Plaque match only.

    Frank

  9. Be advised... several mistakes have already been identified in the results. I will be going over them in the next couple days.

As the final results were not posted at the range in time for everyone to see, the results ARE NOT final until I've had a chance to go over them, and everyone has had a decent chance to look over them and compare.

Result will go final at 10am central time, Thursday September 3rd.

    Frank
