While I agree it should function stock. My G20 hits the hell out of you in the hand and did not become comfortable to shoot till I got a 24lb spring in it. With Doubletap hard casts and Federal Trophy Bonded stuff it still tosses the cases 10 ft.

He's too busy resurrecting threads to hit that magic #50 to answer your questions.
My thought too.

Well there it is straight from the horses mouth. Guess I can stop holding out hope that it was gonna happen and start planning a motorcycle trip.

I never said someone couldn't finish with the irons that are on a legitimate CO gun if the dot goes out. The question was about whether a standard PRODUCTION gun (iron sights, no optic, per Appendix D4) could be used as a backup in CO. The answer is "no", per the CO rules in Appendix D7, line 13, "Optical/electronic sights REQUIRED" (caps in original).
Thought that is what you meant be was just wondering if you read something in the rules that my "Senior" reading comprehension missed.

Not in CO. Sorry.
??? Explain where you see that irons can't be on the gun too and if the dot stops working that you don't just finish out with the irons.

Heard this was a big if. That still the case?

I have yet to see a FFP reticle that you can even begin to see"your holds" at less than 4x. So assuming you have a 1-6X you only have 3 powers of magnification where the reticle does any good at all. I agree with a FFP scope for a precision rifle where the magnification is great enough that you can easily see the "holds" of the reticle, but for 1-6X, or even 1-8X a FFP reticle is akin to a screen door on a submersible. The second focal plain scope is what is needed.
Ding ding ding ding. We have a winner. My sentiments exactly. Also agree with everything you said earlier about the Vortex with the JM1 reticle.

That's crazy! I stress turn and burn when I MD OR RO even. I don't rush shooters once they are on the line but they need to be ready when they are called. And everybody else is expected to hustle( at least not to drag ass) at all times.
7-10 minutes? I'm still shaking my head. Most stages are shot in 30 seconds, scored in less than a minute and being reset right behind the scoring RO.
Who said anything about minutes? That was a statement about number of people.

7-10 to reset between shooters? if you need more than four, either the competitors are really bad at efficiently resetting, or the stages are badly thought out.....
Call it what you want but that is the reality almost everywhere I've shot in Area 8 which is most of it.
-
Reality that I have seen the last 11 years is that you need 12-15 per squad just to move it along without running. You have a man on the timer, one keeping score, the shooter and on deck shooter. Usually the previous shooter is still fiddling around loading or cleaning mags. That leaves 7-10 to reset the stage. And yes I have helped set them up tear them down and usually am one the the people running timer and or keeping score.

I had no real intentions of ever trying CO, especially with the 10 rd limit but this changes everything. I'm actually considering the 19 for exactly the reasons stated above also. Gonna do a couple of checks on my iron sighted 17/19 and decide from there.

Glock will sell a MOS gun today because of this change.

Got Email today saying it was the 3rd and 4th of June but no registration info as of yet or I'm just to stupid to find it.

Seriously though I use NTCH. I use the American Defense Recon-X mount with no problem with eye relief on 3 different setups.

Typical with scope. Although the 1-6s blur the line, scope eye relief is generally based on rifle length stocks. The eye reliefs is much more generous at 1x so you can probably get a little closer but NICH with a scope is a good way to get scope eye.
Your 223 must recoil a lot harder than mine.

So much for collector value now though.
-
Sorry. I do not make one yet. I am looking for a mold gun.
So if I get my gun to you at N M can you make one for the gun or do you need a model like they make for the holster mfrs ?

I had issues running a guide rod for a 34/35 in my 17L. It was just as likely to be a manually operated pistol as not. You would never really feel anything when cycling by hand but when you fired it the slide would strike the front of the rod with just enough force to cause a malfunction. It might fire two or 3 shots just fine then would malfunction for a shot or two then fire one malf one. Changed to a 17/22 rod and have never had another issue.

Dan Wesson PM9. Techwell mag well and grips.
-
Thanks for putting on the show to everyone involved. Would still shoot it if no prize table and I had to reset stage.
-
Who knew. I do it the cool kid way too.I use a standard A2 sling with a rear QD and I just make a loop on the front to go over and around the mag tube. Shorten it up so the front loop can't quite go over the end of the tube.....wa la, done for less than 10 bucks. It has always worked for me!

After 10 years still get first stage jitters. If I ever don't, I think I'll quit.
Do you like the new Production rules?

Been taking a break the last couple of years. Actually like the new changes. It's the attitude that a lot of people have that's making me reconsider taking up shooting more again. Guess I'll just kee racking up miles on my old Road King.
