Bought my Edge from Dawson about a year and half ago, still in the factory wrapper and goo. Had it overnight to my FFL. Cleaned it, lubed it and never looked back. It has been flawless for my weekly competitions. Well over 10k rounds though it. I bought five extra 140mm stock (untuned) STI mags... no problems. Stock trigger pull was 2.5 lbs.
Zero complaints. Jump in... the water is fine.

Your avatar had me hypnotized me for about three minutes...

Wouldn't you rather have a gun that says "Pro" on it...?
-
Does anyone know who built this Open Gun?
It has an SVI Infinity Slide and grip but SVI didn't build on. I found the photo on a gunboard long ago but don't remember where. Anyone know who built this gun or who the owner is?
Told ya you'd get your answer over here.
Shows up a few times here.

I just bought an Edge 9mm from Dawson about a month ago. Didn't want to wait for the enhancement package... just crossed my fingers. I have around 2000 WWB rounds through it now without one single hiccup as well. Ordered a few 140mm stock STI mags... everyone works fine. Came through with a 3 1/4 lb trigger as well.
I read so many negative things about STI's, especially 9mm's that I was paranoid about getting involved with a mess. Not saying it hasn't happened... just saying in my case I couldn't be happier.

... It would be great if we could get the field of view of the standard C-More, the height over the bore of the STS and not have it cost $500. R,
These two come close, offering a taller more oval shape like a C-More, though they are Weaver mounts. I was told by Lone Wolf they can mill your Glock receiver with an integral Weaver mount (see pic). Looks like the Ultradot was on their prototype before they went with the current offering.

Lone Wolf is now offering a slide dot for $79.99. Looks to be a Burris Fast Fire copy. Their website says "guaranteed to provide a lifetime of service". I have a JPoint now which I have a love/hate relationship with. Every so often the dot decides to play hide and seek. Thinking of giving one of these try...

Dawson. We shoot indoors and I drop my mags on the concrete floor, over and over, twice a week. They are so abused I'm amazed my mags still function.

Shooters Connection, Dawson, CPWSA. All have fantastic turnaround times.

My 34's POA shoots POI at 35'-ish with 115 WWB. For me, right where I want it. My 51 year old eyes love these sights.
-
Couldn't you just see trying to explain self defense to the jury with that one... I was just out walking the dog.
-
Can't tell you how many times my 34 has made me bleed. I have to use an add on beavertail (Smart Lock)... our weekly shoots are pretty loose on the rules.
Glock's suck for anyone with XL hands, the web of my hand just rides right up and over that sorry excuse they call a beavertail. I've have seen lots of cut hands with the rental 17 at the range as well. The range owner just ordered a Glocktail.
As soon as the M&P Pro is released I'm all over it just for the beavertail.

Dan Burwell wrote a short review on the difference between these pistols on the M&P Forum ( http://mp-pistol.com ). I tried doing a search but I can't find it now.

Looking to have a JPoint melt myself and found this... you can double up the battery for a brighter dot. They also seem to have a reasonable milling service...
Another option I'm looking into is a Nikko Stirling Diamond T with a Weaver mount that Lone Wolf will mill into your slide (or any weaver mounted dot). The Diamond T's view is a little taller, more C-More'ish...

They've been shipping the DOH with a new adjustable shim belt system lately. Couple guys at the club have them. Nice improvement. If your thinking of ordering one ask for the new version...

On a friend's 34, the sight slid right in. I had to get the file out for mine. Even still, I love these sights... the competition ones that is.

2bigfeet - where did you see that they had different frames? I highly doubt they'll have a different frame when production time comes around...
When I say frame... I really mean slide.
Check out the bevel cut on the end of the slide for the M&PL> http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/sto..._category=15701
There is also a "view product sheet" PDF link when you get either model's page.

Not to high jack this thread, but, what is the difference between the 9L and the pro? I can not find any information their web site about this.
The M&PL has a bobbed dust cover (fit the box?). The Pro is not approved by IPSC... http://www.ipsc.org/proddiv.php
The Pro looks to have comp sights and a worked trigger pull. Seems strange to have two different frames. Why not just offer both with the bobbed dust cover?

One other thing to check is the mag release. Take it out and see if the edges are worn/rounded.

Where I've bought my parts:
cpwsa
Brownells
Shootersconnection
Glockstore
Midway
Dawson Precision
All top notch retailers with very timely shipping. All of these folks usually ship same day... if you order early enough. If you are in a hurry be sure to select the appropriate shipping method. I'm always surprised how fast I get things.

Thanks for the replies/suggestions.

We have been using IPSC cardboard targets at our indoor range's weekly combat shoots. We want to try some IDPA targets for a change up.
Question: Are the IDPA cardboard targets brown on one side and white on the other (no-shoots) like the IPSC? If so, does anyone have a source? My searches aren't clear on the no-shoot white backs.
Thanks for any help.

Why in the world they used a rear spacer instead of the well liked Springfield-Leatham Front Ramp, I cannot imagine.
Perhaps licensing or patent issues...?
Sorry to hear they are not as reliable in SA as the front crimp. I thought about getting a few until now. Too much money on a maybe.
