  1. Our guys LOVE UPS!

They go bonkers when the big brown truck slows down & turns in our driveway. I think the fact our old regular guy gave them cookies with every delivery had something to do with it Our one dog will go in the truck with the guy if he gets the chance.

As with the "dog alarm", rarely does anyone come down the driveway without it going off.

  2. I moved from Ontario to Michigan in 2009 & brought my ipsc gun with me.

I had to fill out a Form 6-Permanent import sheet. Crossed at Win-Det & it was simple.

I don't know anything about Illinois, and whether its different than Michigan with regards to importing a firearm.

Also, I moved on a K1 visa (fiancée visa), and got my green card in 6 months.

Not sure what visa you will be moving here on, how long you're staying & your status while living here.

    Hope all goes well!

  3. Depending on one's physical ability (and port/wall height), spreading your feet & bending your knees to get lower is much more stable than standing on your tippy toes trying to shoot a target over a wall that's up to your armpits ;)

I discovered that trying to shoot over stuff. Sometimes just being able to do something is not always best. Sometimes I wish I was as tall as Endersby. I really like it when there are vertical slits. Good for everyone. I would probably trip over platforms!

I really don't know what it is like to be on your side of the 95 percentile. But I guess being comfortable in a coach airplane seat is one of the perks  .

Yes, verticals slits will pretty much end the short/tall debate!

Being short is nice sitting in coach, but I'd need someone like you to help me stow my baggage in the overhead storage :)

  4. "I've heard this before, but you have the ability to get low, I can't get taller."

    Agreed!

I'm shorter than avg. male, but often run into this issue. For every stage better suited for us short folks, ten give taller shooters an advantage.

I don't know where you shoot but Being 6'4", I totally disagree with this observation. An easy port for you is a low port for me. A low port for you, is damn near prone for me. It is always either get stable but I have to do happy feet to see all the targets or be unstable and shoot with (more of) a wobble. It is very rare that I get to shoot over something.

PS: this may be due to the fact that mostly Pinoy build the stages out here :roflol:

  5. Lol....welcome to my world! Except I'm 5'0 and have encounter this on many occasions.

Not to be disrespectful to the great people that design & set up stages, but I'm not sure why this is still a problem. There's quite a few short women (and men) not to mention kids/young adults who shoot.

Having a step or platform of some kind doesn't work for me entirely. Ya it helps me see the target, which is I guess the important part, but it takes time to make sure I land on it, stay supported & take off safely as opposed to stepping into position, engaging the target(s) & moving to the next shooting position if there is one.

Yes, it should be possible for all the shooters to make the shot, in some fashion - but that height can be a disadvantage is just part of the sport - almost every port I've encountered has been too short for me to easily shoot out of.

  6. So I got my first pair of Salomon shoes. I ordered them online, but after reading some people's issue on correct sizing, I went to a store to try them on first. Luckily I did, cause I'm usually a size 6, and they were slightly too big. Got them in a 5.5 & they fit great!

I got the Ellipse GTX. Looking forward to seeing how they are at the next match!

  7. Congrats! I will buy all the shooting stuff she is going to make you sell as soon as you say I do!

    Bwahaa

Hey let's not jump to conclusions here....maybe she can be persuaded to do a little shooting too!

    ;p

  8. The power goes out here every so often so we got a gene.

I don't think we've ever hooked up the gene so fast as when the power went out just as the Red Wings were heading into overtime!

    Can't miss exciting hockey! :)
