  1. Just blue ridge, fb3, and the international, i think... Oh and FN

If you want the win it lies in Kentucky. I don't know any pros other than the local Samson boys going to that.

I bailed in favor of the Night Match in N Tx.

Kinda makes you think about how the points are calculated... Is it really fair that the semi-pros should be getting points based on who shows up at a match and have to be tactical (or lucky) about which matches to shoot to amass the most points?

For the 3GN points, wouldnt it be more fair to normalize the scores between the semi-pros only? That way it wouldnt matter who of the pros make it to a certain match or not, the best semi-pro would get 100 3GN points whether he's 2% behind the winner or 20% behind the winner. It wouldnt affect the match or match scoring at all, and normalizing the scores for the 3GN semi-pros wouldnt really take any time at all once you have the formula/script figured out.

There are a bunch of things that would make more sense but its not worth the trouble.

Last year they didn't have enough shooters to fill all 25 slots in the qualifier match. So they opened it up to anyone that signed up.

There are only a handful of guys like Nik, Chuck and John that decided they were going to go out and shoot every match possible to try to win this thing. If you got the time and money to shoot more than the next guy you get rewarded for your increased participation.

Lastly but definitely not least 3GN is still relying on 3rd party outlaw matches to send them the data. At this point they are lucky they are getting the correct data to work with. Last year names were spelled wrong so some guys didn't get their points and stuff like that.

I was in the semi series last year and I was not notified of any open call to fill the slots!!

seriously I heard about this happening and wondered how everyone was notified because I was not?

How will we know if this happens this year? Will we get an email? phone call? or do we rely on the Benoverse to get 3gunnation information out that we paid to register for?!

  2. Having a horrible time finding a decently priced place to stay near the match. Looks like I'm heading down alone.....so if anyone has floor space available for $100 bill and a temporary Chiropractor at your disposal....just let me know.

May have to cancel and give my spot away if I can't find a place.

I am heading down from Va. and I have not secured a room yet...

    Split one?

    let me know

    Bill

  3. WEll I've a little kind of bad news.

John Scouten contacted me and said he will not be able to make it down to film the match this year due to schedule conflict he just couldn't rearange.

Sorry to hear it myself, but thems the breaks. Maybe next year !!!

ON the good side of the news.

We've almost DOUBLED the numbers for the most revolvers at a single uspsa match in the history of the division (2006 USPSA Nationals) Congatulations to all for that.

  4. Hello Shooters,

Well we're one week away. So let's make that final big push to get your applications in.

Stages have been approved by John Amidon. Started building them last weekend. Should finish them this weekend. Plan to have them posted this weekend.

Sponsors and vendors have been awesome. The prize table should be spectacular. (Thanks Liz and Brad)

We will be doing registration at the range all day Friday and at the match hotel Friday night from approximately 7:00 to 9:00. (Ramada Inn) If you miss us Friday, registration will open Saturday morning at the range at 7:00 a.m.

Round count is 272 rounds plus chrono.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me or any of the match staff.

This is going to be a great match. So get those applications in.

    Robert,

Can you add one more limited A shooter?

I think I have arranged to escape for the weekend to shoot a good match with yall!!

Hope to see ya at the match hotel if not Saturday.

    Bill W.

    Hello Shooters

The 2009 Hillbilly Classic is just a couple of months away on November 1. There will be 7 fun and challenging USPSA stages, a great catered lunch with ALL the catfish, chicken fingers, hush puppies ect… you can eat. The match fee is just $50, or $70 if postmarked after October 19. I have attached the entry form with the Waiver of Liability and the artwork for this year’s t-shirt. Notice the earmuffs on the Hillbilly. LOL!!! I want to make sure everyone gets their shirt who orders one so please get your entry form, Waiver and check (including t-shirt money) to me ASAP. The deadline for ordering shirts is October 19. We are giving away a Springfield Armory XDM 9mm or .40 cal (your choice) to one lucky participant in the match.

There will not be a stake shoot this year.

Please call or email me if there are any questions.

    Thanks

    OK,

Where are all those evil SS'ers?

Guess I will have to start the smack talk again this year!!!!

I will just have to dust off my trusty POG and attend this match.

What a great bunch of people to shoot with and harass!

  6. Okay, Ive got a nice CR speed rig w/ versa pouches, but the pouches keep sliding around on me. what's the best way to lock 'em into place?

buy velcrol and place on the inside surface of the pouches to mate with the inner belt. they won't slide any more.

    Good luck,

    Bill W.

  7. Howdy!

I have been shooting USPSA about 2 years, have a Glock 35 with adjustable sights, and to be honest not a real fan of them. They work fine, but over time tend to drift.

I would like to get a set of fixed sights worthy of competition. What have other people used? Like? Or just stay away from?

    Thanks!

    -Peter

    Pete,

I shot a 35 for the last 2 years as well, I found the Novac fiber front sight was great for me.

The sight is narrow and allows light between the sides of the front sight and the stock rear sight. color optional red or green. but it is really is easy to find in a hurry.

Brownells #662-000-052 for $36 for the green.

    Long live the POG!

    Bill W.
