I want to get a timer.  I tried the search function and really got confused as to a really good one.  Electronics development advances fast and thats what confuses me.  Its for my son to use for training/shooting/dryfire maybe?  He wants more features than a basic timer with par time capabilities.  Which timer would you get?  Kestrel, AMG & etc??

    thanks

When I got into pistol competition many years ago, I bought a PACT timer. It is simple to use and has the info I'm looking for without being complicated. It has the ability to adjust for sensitivity but I don't know how well it would work with your situation.

Going to be shooting Open minor with my Staccato P duo till/if they are made USPSA CO legal and was wondering if the balance would be way off with a 170 mag. Anybody tried that  or in a similar sized gun? No comp or mag well, just gun as it came from factory with a dot.

You'll have an issue with overinsertion

Is there a best way to shoot a Polish Plate Rack? Thank you.

I shot it at A1, few years back. After watching a few shooters, I adopted an inside-out sort of approach so as to unbalance it as little as possible. It worked and I cleared it with the minimum number of shots, but I saw shooters just spraying and chasing it and clearing it faster than I did.

Couple of rounds through it and it will run just fine

  5. Here is a PRO-tip for anyone that might be interested🙂 , before you go to the range spray some Dillions case lube in the comp, keep the gun virticle with a small pistol rack or some books until the stuff dries to a paste in the comp. It stays in place after many round, and will make cleaning the comp 10X more easy then if you didn't spray it.

I have 3 comped 1911's in 45 and love all of them. One is an STI-Costa CC. Some Dudes use gun oil for this, but I found oil doesn't stay in the comp very long. Use the case lube from Dillon.

I build my own 2011 and 1911 Open guns.  Because of that I get to handle a lot of custom guns.  Infinitys and Limcats are always nice.  However, lots of money and a long wait.  I think the Limcats are a little strange looking.  Atlas has had some problems with Open gun slides.   There are a lot of 2011 builders out there with excellent reputations.  I can't comment, because I've never handled their guns.  Since I do build my own guns and they run 100% from the start, the notion of spending $7k~$9k on a custom gun and waiting forever for it seems like a waste.

That being said, If I were going to buy a custom 2011 instead of build one, I'd get it from Bob at Brazos Custom.  His attention to detail is amazing.

Do you care to build one for me??? Do you have a website or where i could check your work out? How much does it cost to build one??

    Thanks
