Because I only have one versa max to use between me and my son. Some stages last year required both shooters to have a shotgun.

Damon, If stages require both shooters to shoot the same type of gun at same time I would like an exception for shotgun to allow shotguns setup with typical hunting/trap/skeet barrels. Ported barrels ok (no brake) if max capacity of mag tube is 5. Just want my mossberg 500 to be legal just like my versa max competition.

Since major matches like tar heel challenge are 8 stages per day, what about a monthly 4 stage match done twice in one day AM/pm. Individual stages would be like shooting a major match. 1) longer stages 2) cycle more shooters get more fees 3) less stages, perhaps no slow down with individuals resetting, keeps match moving fast.
